I turned 31 today. I am about to go to bed. My parents never called.

20 bucks says they call tomorrow (they are living with my sister, who called this morning) and say they didn't want to call and catch me "out to dinner".

Whatever.

But, hey. HHBG got me a tent for my birthday. And some cool books. And a new battery charger for the digi camera. I love him.

OK, back to real life tomorrow. *sigh* I need a 96 hour bithday debauch where I am waited on hand and foot, like someone else who shall remain unnamed.....

(I'm a tad late, haven't been on the Dis much lately!) I know what you mean about your folks-my Mom NEVER remembers, it's been that way for about 8 years, so I guess I'm more used to it. And my Dad....well...he means well, but seriously, he has no clue what month my birthday is even IN. It's been that way my whole life.

I am glad you have a wonderful HHBG who remembered!!!!!!!!! My HHBG forgot last year! Needless to say, I don't think he'll forget this year.... (Last year stunk)

I'm pissed with them on many leels, but I have ot take back the "didn't call". They did call my house while we were out, and got the babysitter. they just never called my cell.

The hint is: bring it up a LOT in the month prior to your Birthday. HHBG HAs forgotten before, but now I bring it up in conversation 2-3 times a week starting around Valentines Day (a holiday which is also brought up before it arrives ).

And I bought the tent myself. He just allotted the $$ from his bonus this year (when he got it in january). So, he didn't have to worry about remembering WHEN my birthday was. It's a great tent, though. 2 person, 6lbs. Can't go family camping in it, but I CAN haul it to Disney pretty easily.

And ym ILs sent me a gift certificate to Target (pronouncet tar-jhay ). Woohoo! I was looking at camping supplies when I was there last month, so now I can get some "on them".

I LOVE TAR-JHAY! We call it that too! The Tarjhay Boutique, actually. It's my favorite place to buy clothes for the girls. And ours is a Super Target so it has groceries too! Have fun shopping!
