I was reading an article called "Disney Magic: New Attractions at WDW Highlight 2006" in Journeys Magazine (Jan/Feb 2006) and they said

"Young princesses and youthful adventurers will have more fun to look forward to in spring 2006 when the World of Disney Marketplace introduces the enchanted Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique, immersive Princess Room and interactive Adventure Room. The boutique will be a magical salon that tranforms little girls into their favorite Disney princess through hairstyling, makeup and manicures."

Noting that the article said "spring 2006," I doubt that it is up and running yet, but here on the Dis, people seem to be in the know before most! :thumbsup2 Anyone know anything about this? Prices? A phone number to schedule this? My DD would love to do this on our upcoming trip!

interesting. :goodvibes also would like to know about this.

In Disneyland's Downtown Disney there is a makeover shop called Club Libby Lu's which transforms little girls into princesses, superstars, rock stars, etc with makeup and hairdos. I heard last summer while I was in california they were trying to open one in Downtown Disney in Florida. i wonder if they could be one and the same.

It is not open yet. The area in World Of Disney is still under construction. I saw a casting notice the other day to hire CMs for the area so I doubt they are taking reservations yet. If I see something different, I'll let you know.

I called 407WDisney this morning and had trouble finding anyone who could tell me anything about it, but they finally gave me a very nice CM on the "switchboard." She told me it was scheduled to open April 5 and there were no plans to take appointments in advance, but that could change.

Does the Disneyland one take appointments? Anyone know how long the wait is over there to do this?

Thank you Feralpeg and thank you to the other DISer who found an April 5th opening date. It should be up and running for our May trip! :thumbsup2

At Disneyland Club Libbu Lu took reservations they started a year out. I managed to get one very early morning. When I got there 15 minutes before opening there was a line.
She loved it so much we went 2 days later (no appointment) Got there at 8:45 waited in line. When we were leaving at 10am there was a sign outside saying they were not taking any more walkins. My suggestion is to get there about 20 minutes before opening. I did notice in the evenings the store did calm down but once the little girls sleep on there hairdo it pretty much works its way out :confused3

I am definately interested in information on this for our upcoming April trip.
I think my daughter would love it.

As feralpeg mentioned, they are currently casting for the fairy godmother positions at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. It is slated to open April 5. It is my understanding that is it supposed to be similar to the Club Libby Lu (a friend of mine who works at the FL Mall is friends with the manager at that location of CLL and she said that place does hopping business).

I was told by a CM that they would be taking ressies through WDW Dine #, but when I called they only have a coming soon on their computers. Told me to check back in a few weeks. I totally want to do this for my girls. We love Libby Lu.

:sunny: For those who have been to Club Libby Lu, can you gives us an idea of the services and the prices available for the girls? Is it just hair and nails? I don't think I'd want makeup on my little ones!

At DL, the LibbyLu is MOSTLY about the make-up, not the hair and nails. They tend to use lots and lots and lots of glitter stuff on your kids face and lip gloss. If you want your DD to look like a Bratz doll, then go for it, but even my DD has looked in the DL one several times saying, "no, I don't wanna".

I found an article in the Orlando Sentinel with prices and info, but now the link doesn't exist. I should have copied it.

They are definitely taking reservations because I made one for my dds for July. I called WDW dining and they gave me a number to call. Sorry I lost the paper I wrote it down on. I took the "crown package" for dds (7 and 8). It's a lot cheaper than when they went to the GF Spa last summer and had the "my first facial" and "my first manicure".

They are definately taking reservations. I made my daughter a reservation for our April trip. The phone number is (407) 939-7895

:thumbsup2

For those who already made ressies - did you have to select your package now, or can you do that at the appointment?

You had to select your package now as they budget a certain amount of time per package. We picked the "crown" package - hair, glittery make-up and nails for $45.00.

BIBBIDI BOBBIDI BOUTIQUE OPENING SOON

For all those little girls dreaming of being a Disney Princess, this new addition to the World of Disney is the perfect fit. More of a salon than a store, there will be 10 chairs where girls can get their hair, nails and makeup done.

Reservations are now being taken for April 5 and beyond. The number to call is 407-WDW-STYLE.

Package Price:

COACH: Hair style and shimmering makeup - $35.00 plus tax
CROWN: Hair style, shimmering makeup and nails - $45.00 plus tax
CASTLE: Hair style, shimmering makeup and nails plus full Princess costume with accessories and photo package (one 6x8 and four 4x6 pix) - starting at $175.00 plus tax

That's the package I'm leaning towards, but I'm afraid my DD would get there, see other girls getting dresses and crowns, and want one too. :rolleyes2 I might have to just book the big package to be safe. SHe's only 5 once, right? princess:
