Know anything about the Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique? New for 2006!

I agree but since this is our fifth trip and the girls have about 10 princess dresses I decided to bypass the dress in favor of a "my first massage" and "my first facial" at the GF spa. THere are soooooo many things for little girls - now I wish I could find more for my ds. They do the pirate cruise, tea party and grand adventures in cooking but I wish they had something specifically geared to boys also.

I agree I wish there was more my darling son who is 12 the hard middle age to old to do the cute things but to young to do the older things...lost in finding him something special while at WDW. I have my DD booked at B.B.B.!

There's lots that your DS12 can do at WDW. Maybe you could start a thread on fun things for a 12 year to do at WDW.

When my DS was 12 he loved:

*pin trading (there are times in DTD when you can meet and trade pins with others)
*mouseboat
*parasail- not sure of age
*fish
*horseback ride
*snorkel or surf at one of the water parks
*minature golf
*take a WDW tour behind the scenes
*eating at Prime time or Sci-Fi

Hope this gives you some ideas! :goodvibes

Thanks for the ideas. He would love the mini golf. I will start a thread. I was talking like she can do the cooking or even the pirarte boat those are really for her not all. We are going to sci fi. I will check into some of these other things they look like they would be fun.

Here is a link to club libby lu just to give you an idea of what it is like. We have one in our mall here, I'm not sure if the one at Disney will be more geared toward the princess make over, but there are several to choose.

I just took my four nieces to Club Libby Lu last night for their birthdays -ages 7, 7, 9 and 10. Club Libby Lu makeover choices did not include a princess as far as I can remember but staff all referred to them as princesses! They had their hair done up, color spray on their hair, eyeshadow, lipstick, nail polish, necklace, silver stars on face and lots of glitter. The $30 package per girl also got them their choice of 5 items from select bins. Examples were hair bands, barettes, lip gloss, pens with big feathers...... They also got to create their own perfume, body lotion and hair gel that get placed in their very own Libby Lu backpack. Did I mention lots of glitter! They also had them dress up in "dance fever" type outfits and after they were done, they get to dance to a song in the front of the store. The girls had a blast and I let them strut their stuff in the mall afterwards. They were giggling and thought they were so cool! Beware, the store also sells lots of items and gets quite loud and crowded!

I have a ressie for my little princess on Mother's Day at 9:30, so I know they are making reservations. I actually made it about two weeks ago.

Mouseboat? I heard they were getting rid of it and if not how much is it? does anyone know. I have heard about the 2 different mini golf too. Do they take reservations? thanks

DDs would love the hair and make up and nails. I think they are too old to start buying dresses now and we have lots at home they never wear.

There's a Libby Lu in a mall near us, and I have to tell you, as the mom of two young girls I have always found the sight of little girls in makeup and midriff-revealing "rock star" costumes dancing in a mall window more than a little unsettling . . . especially as heaven-knows-who walks by.

I know little girls love to dress up, and I'd have no objection to a private "rock star" dress up party in a home (for a birthday party, for example), but I worry that such a display out in the general public could give the wrong people the wrong ideas. These are children, not little women.

My best friend had the same reaction to Libby Lu. I'd be interested if anyone else out there has had this reaction.

By the way, don't get me wrong: I think the Bibbidi Boppipty Bu (spelling?) idea is very cute and appropriate. But it's one thing to wear makeup etc. to dress up like a Disney princess while with one's family in a family-oriented setting. It's quite another to dress up like Britney Spears or Christina Aguiliara and "perform" in a window for strangers at the mall.

Thoughts? Reactions?

MDMom I agree completely.

I am however very excited about the BBB. I have a question though. Is there disney transportation to downtown Disney? We were not planning on renting a car but this sounds like a good place to visit. What would be our options w/o a rental car?

We are going to mnsshp in Oct 2007. My daughter will be 8. Will she be too old for this? It would make the perfect Halloween costume for mnsshp. What do you all think? Thanks a bunch!

MDMom,

I just wanted to tell you I couldnt agree with you more. I am a former manager for club libby lu and i had to quit because i didnt like how they paraded the girls around. I would have been fine if we had a private party room or something like that. When i was hired I didnt realized we would have to have a parade in front of the store with the girls dressed up or that we would play games like pick your husband.

Im excited though about bibbidi bobbidi because i know disney will keep in family oriented and magical.

Don't know where you would be coming from but there are definitely buses that go to DTD from the resorts and the parks! :sunny:

Fairy aunt mother, Sorry we are staying at WL. I am glad to hear we will be able to take Disney transportation. I can't wait!

What are the princess dress options?

Just back from WDW and my DD6 did the castle package at BBB. You won't be disappointed!! It was amazing and worth every penny. My DD decided at the last minute to do Ariel instead of Jasmine and it was no problem. They walked her over to a huge dress up closet where she could pick from several different princess costumes. I'll post the closet after I upload the pics form our trip. Just thought some of you would like to know that your DD's can change their choice of costume at the last minute.

Also wanted to say that I do not think it matters if you get the costume there or wear your own from home or not wear one at all. None of the girls seemed to be looking at each other because they were too focused on themselves. Each girl was treated the same no matter which package they had and the girls are not paraded around afterward.

I'll post pics soon! :goodvibes

So glad your DD had a magical time at BBB!! I can't wait to see your photos! Did you do the castle package w/ the photos? If so, how did those turn out?? We're booked for castle right now but I'm thinking of downgrading.

The pictures were honestly worth the money alone. They are very professional and as good if not better than most of the ones I have had taken in a professional studio. I was really impressed with the whole experience and I'm glad we did the castle package. As I said earlier, I don't think it would take away from the experience at all if you did not get the costume. I did not see any of the girls looking at each other and they were all treated like royality!

My DD really enjoyed wearing the costume over the course of the week and she was able to wear her hair the way they fixed it for two days. If you break down the cost it was well worth it!

I'll post pics soon.

Wow! If that's the case I may have to reconsider that downgrade! What kind of background do they use for the photos?
