Thinking about finally visiting Knott's for one day, preferably during the upcoming holiday season. Have a few questions...

Is there a way to find out more about Knott's entertainment? I don't need anything as specific as show times, but what days of the week shows are offered would be nice. I can find the schedule for the Hillbillies since they have their own facebook page, but I haven't been able to figure out much else about what days of the week Knott's entertainment is offered. Is the holiday entertainment such as Snoopy's ice show and other live entertainment weekends only?

How do Knott's holiday crowds rank compared to Disney holiday crowds?

If I want to be there for opening, how early should I get to the gates?

If the park opens at 10 AM, does that mean the gates don't open until 10 AM, or do they start letting people inside before that?

Been listening to the Dis podcasts so mostly planning on trying out foods in the park or at the places just outside. Will we be allowed to bring water bottles in with us though or do they enforce the no food and drinks policy absolutely?

Thanks in advance for any answers to my questions or other helpful tips anyone has to offer.

I cannot answer the questions regarding entertainment but I can offer a little advice. We showed up an hour before the park opened like we do at Disneyland and there was NOONE to be found. I would do a half hour before the park opens at most.
I would schedule your visit for a weekday. We went on a Tuesday and it was a ghost town. We walked on every ride and got front of the coaster whenever we wanted. It was AMAZING. If you enjoy the coasters front of the coaster is worth the wait! The back car of Accelerator was my favorite though....tons of "air time"!

We bough refillable drinks and felt like it was a good deal for us. We were a party of nine and bought each of us a refillable. The lady was shocked we bought so many. Obviously sharing would not be unheard of or frowned upon. The refillables were 9.99 and you had to drink 3 to break even.

The food on the other hand is VERY expensive for what you get. (inside the park) I would recommend going outside the park for lunch. Next time, I would try the cable car sandwich place just outside the gate.

Mrs. Knotts breakfast was not worth the expense to us. The food was ok but the price wasn't worth it. We used to love eating here but the quality does not seem as high as it used to.

Take some time just to wander in the ghost town. The characters they have interacting with guests are great.
We spent a week in LA the end of October and spent 1 day at Knotts, 1day at Universal, and the rest at Disney. Knotts was one of my favorite if not my favorite day. It was so relaxed and they have done a great job cleaning the place up since my last visit. You will have a great time!

This was what I was thinking. Half an hour before would be great. It can be a "sleep-in" day for us. Thanks for confirmation of that point.

I would prefer a weekday because the rest of my family loves coasters and would love to walk on. I'm not a coaster rider though and would like to be able to take in some entertainment which is why I'm wondering if a weekend might be better for that purpose.

The cable car sandwich place is on my list. I listened to Tony's review on the Dis, and he made it sound good and worth the money.

We will eat breakfast in our hotel room before heading out to Knott's.

This is definitely the kind of experience I will look for and enjoy while I am there.

Thanks for all the advice.
