We're going to Disney in October and I'm debating whether to take my girls to Knotts. I noticed that they will be "dressed" for Halloween, but the emphasis is more on a scary Halloween.

My girls are easily spooked. If we stayed near Camp Snoopy would we be able to avoid the scary decorations?

This is how Knott's Scary Farm works.

During the day the park is Knott's Berry Farm. No scary things at all, all of the rides are open, no haunted mazes or people scaring you. Then the park closes at like 5:30 and everybody is forced to leave. Those who have the special tickets for Knott's Scary Farm can get in at 7. At that point, everything is super scary. There are mazes with actors that scare people, there are random people walking around in costumes scaring people. Camp Snoopy has a scary maze and tons of people scaring people so that's not off limits.

DLR29, thanks for the clarification on Knotts Halloween! Still not sure if we're going to visit that park, but at least now I'm informed! Certainly not taking them in the evening! LOL!

If scary Halloween decorations spook your girls then it's
probably best to not go there during the "Scary Farm"
event. DLR29 is correct that no one is jumping out
during the day but many of the decorations can still be
seen.

This is accurate, during the normal day operating hours there will be skeletons, evil clowns, zombies and such theming all around the park, even Camp Snoopy if I recall has static props placed around it. So if the whole vibe of even seeing these things is too much for the young ones, might reconsider the visit during this time period.

Some rides will be also be closed, as they are used for mazes. If you're not an AP holder, a daytime visit to KBF is just not a good deal for your money.

Note that even during the day, they do have the decorations around that may spook your kids. But Camp Snoopy is safe overall during the day.

We didn't see hardly anything scary during our day visit in October. Most things are covered up and even THAT scared my two wimpy 7 and 8 yr old girls but they survived easily.

Also, important to note. The daytime admission in October is DEAD!!! There is NOBODY in the park and it was by far my best visit to Knott's EVER (and I used to live down there).

Everybody goes at night!
