Knoebels Fans - Lodging Question

Haha... yeah, it is in the middle of nowhere. Why don't you try Hershey, PA? You could make it a two-park trip. It's still an hour, but there's more in Hershey than in Hazleton. (There's *nothing* in Hazleton.)

Nothing in Hazelton is an understatement. Is there anything near Danville that you could book for free? that is much closer to Knoebles than Hazelton

Some other cities that come up are

Willamsport

Wilkes-Barre-Scranton

Hershey

So maybe we can stay at Hershey and then do Knoebels on the way home? Is it on the way back to Long Island does anyone know? I'm clueless about PA other than Great Wolf Lodge!

Sorry I got no clue where your coming from or anything. Knoebles is off the beaten path so to speak. its not exacty on the way to anything. Its in the woods. It sorts of just pops up out of no where. I'm 30 min from there :)

I think we are just going to stay at Hershey since we have never been. We'll do Knoebels another time. Thanks everyone :goodvibes

The absolute charm of Knoebles is that is in the middle of nowhere! :rotfl:

We stay at the Holiday Inn Express near Danville I believe. It is fairly new with an excellent breakfast.

Having been to both Hershey park and Knoebles multiple times? Knoebles gets my vote every single time.

Worth the drive and worth the hotel stay. You'll not find many places like it left.

You could definitely hit Knoebels on your way home to LI from Hershey. It's about an hour and 20 min from Hershey. Here are the directions http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1c=Hershey&1s=PA&1pn=hersheypark&2c=Elysburg&2s=PA&2pn=knoebels+amusement+resort#a/maps/l:Hersheypark+Amusement+Park:100+W+Hersheypark+Dr:Hershey:PA:17033:US:40.29262:-76.659016:address::1/l:Knoebel's+Amusement+Resort:391+Knoebels+Blvd:Elysburg:PA:17824:US:40.883366:-76.505768:address::1/m::6:40.589194:-76.503365:0:::::/io:1:::::f:EN:M:/e

It really is worth the stop. If you're going to have to stop on the way home for food anyway, you might as well stop someplace fun, that also has delicious food.

We aren't far from Knoebels. It is in the middle of nowhere, but it is a nice little park. Free admission, free parking, great food. I think it is a better park for younger kids. Hershey can be PRICEY, and the lines can get VERY long. Danville is probably your best bet for a hotel. Knoebels does have a campground, if you are into camping.

Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster is another good choice...

We love Knoebels too! There's tons to do in Hershey, so staying there would be a good choice. And then plan to spend the day at Knoebels. It's great because you can just pay for the rides you want - spend as little or as much time as you want there. It's a charming park. We live only 90-120 minutes from it, and I am so sorry to say we didn't discover the joy of that park until 2 years ago! And as someone mentioned, they do have really affordable and yummy food (with lots of interesting choices too).
