We are going to Knobels this week (very excited), we live about 2 ½ hours from the park. So my question is this; can we do everything in one day or should I book a hotel and stay for two. Thanks.

We did it in one day, but there is a whole water park area we did not do. So I would look at that area online and decide..

While you are there get a waflle ice cream. Yum!!

We were just there last Friday night; they were having a special where you could buy a wrist band and ride for the entire night (6-10 pm) for $7 for kids and $9 for adults. We never took our kids there but thought we'd give it a try because it was pretty cheap. On the way there we explained to our boys (who love rides) that there is a pretty good chance that we'll only be able to get on a certain number of rides and not all of them because of the amount of time we had, BUT we went on almost everything in those four hours and my boys went on a few rides multiple times. Now it was pretty empty and we never waited for a ride so that was in our favor, but everytime I've gone to Knoebel's I've never been for longer than a day and have had enough time to get on all the rides. Enjoy! My boys had a blast!

Depending on the crowds, you should be able to cover the park in a day.

Also, it should be noted that Knoebel's was on Food Network on a show about amusement park food. Oddly I don't recall ever eating the food, but it is apparently very good.

I agree, one day should be more than fine. :goodvibes Enjoy!!

We'd be going to Knoebels this year if I weren't as big as a house! :scared1:

We're going Wednesday! I'd say definitely one day. The earlier you get there the better, obviously. I know they're holding specials this week, too, which was in our local paper.

My sister and BIL are leaving Thursday with their 3 kids and my DS. They are going for 3 days, but camping too. DH & I would have gone but I am due to pop out DC#2 in the next 2 weeks sometime so I have to miss it. We LOVE Knoebels.
One day would be enough, but 2 days would give you plenty of time to wander the park and relax and check out the neat little things about the park. It's so different from every other amusement park we've been too, and cheaper! And yes, the food is good, not your typical park fare where everything is the same each stand has different stuff...starting to get hungry thinking about it! Yum!

Knoebels is defiantly the biggest hidden Gem of the Northeast.

We go every year for a few days and camp at J&D down the road.

This is an old time amusement park with classic and new rides with a campground. I have never tasted any better food at any park better then at this place. My wife and I would giggle every time we paid for anything because of the value. We live near the Boardwalks in Central NJ, and everything there is so expensive, so paying $20 for all of us to eat Breakfast and have food left over is a pleasant surprise. The only thing that is disappointing about our stays, is that we never have a chance to try all their food.

The admission into the park is FREE, FREE parking and FREE entertainment. It seems that a lot of the campers would watch the evening show at the park then head back to the camp fires.
The camping at their campground is tight and no privacy. You are right on top of your neighbors, but the ease of walking right to the park may be worth it for some.

For such an unknown place, it has won many awards, even beating out the Mouse.

I'm about an hr from Knoebels. It is a great little park. You can definitely do it in one day, especially if it is a weekday and you get there early. Have fun!!

I did go to Knoebels when I was as big as a house, at 37 weeks pregnant. I thought it was a great park while pregnant because there was a lot of shade, and we just took things at a very relaxed pace.

We love Knoebels! I used to go there as a kid and now we take our kids there every year. It is a really nice park, clean, shaded, and the rides are nastalgic in nature! You have to go on the Haunted House ride as well as The Phoenix coaster...they are the best! We live about two hours away and have only stayed over once at my sister in laws cabin near the park, but you can do the park in one full day depending on which weekend you choose to go over the summer. There is a pool and water park (extra cost) that is fairly new too. There is a campground there as well right next to the park. Picnic pavillions are right outside of the entrance so (if you wish) you can bring a packed lunch or dinner along and even cook over the available charcoal grills. There is no parking fee or entrance fee. Only need to buy tickets per ride or a wrist band for one fee per person. The food is really decent and prices are good. I would say that it is best to have two days if you are going over a weekend (more crowded) or want to enjoy the campground or water portions of the park. HAVE FUN!:goodvibes

Camp Knoebels - it's part of the fun... now we stay at the other campground knoebels owns down the road Lake Glory cause the sites at Knoebels are pretty close and a little noisy but the one down the road is quite and great - 5 minutes away.

Now we do 2 days - 1 day at the water park, go back to the campsite take a nap relax and then head back for the night rides - then the next day we spend all day at the park and head home that night.

Now remember the rides and pool don't open till 11 am.

Best park ever - Food is pretty good and Seriously cheap comparied to other amusement parks!!!!

ENJOY

I agree. Especially since they have tent platforms -- it's a nice wooden deck that you nail your tent to. No more rocks or roots sticking in your back.

During the summer, it would be a challenge to do everything on a weekend day. I think you could do everything on a week-day. (During the summer, you can only buy "Ride-All-Day" passes on weekdays.)

However, I have not accounted for the water park. It's probably worth a half-day, if your family likes to get wet.

A lot of our friends like to camp at Knoebels, but I prefer a hotel. We stay at the Danville Quality Inn. It's a nice place and they include breakfast! We try to do a full day the park and a full day at the pool. If it rains we skip the pool and go to the Bloomsburg Childrens Museum!

Have Fun!

Cool! Just stopping in to say hi :wave2: to the Knoebels fans in here!

Small world eh?

Knoebels is, as someone else said, a true hidden gem of the NE. We live maybe 2 hours from it, due primarily to the convoluted route we have to take to get there, and make a point of going at least once or twice a year. You can definitely see it in a day, but if you have the time, spend more than that. It's a fantastic little park, in a beautiful area of the state. (Also, as others have said, if you plan on swimming, two days would be a benefit for sure).

Have fun!

I prefer going on weekdays since the kids can get all day ride bracelets. My husband and I share a book of tickets and it works out great! Luckily, our township offers discounts on the bracelets. I miss then days when my kids were under 48''!

We're gonna try Knoebels this summer for the first time. I'm curious whether the haunted house is okay for kids-- anyone take theirs? I know all kids are different, but I'm wondering how it compares in terms of the HM, which my kids love.

It's a carny-style haunted house, with monsters that jump out at you and several loud and surprising special effects. It's not like Haunted Mansion at all.

FYI, Knoebels charges extra for their haunted house (it's not included in the Ride-All-Day Pass), which reduces some of the vandalism that plagues other carny-style haunted house attractions. All those monsters that scream and jump out at you -- they're all working at Knoebels! (My wife hates it!)

Good to know. Thanks!
