I'm a double-coupon newbie. I called my local Kmart to verify that they are doing double-coupons today. They said coupons up to $2 would double. So does this mean that for an item that might be $3.89, I can use a coupon that says $2 and get it for free? Or does it only take off the first $2 and I'd pay $1.89 as usual? Or does it mean that coupons will only take off a max of $2 per item? See.... newbie!!!

Any strategies? I've got a couple of months of coupons saved up and sorted already. I just moved and my pantry has been bare, so I'm looking to get it stocked for very little $ if possible.

TIA!

:wave2: I just got finished unloading my 6th trip from Kmart in the past two days! I found an awesome cashier who has been helping me along and lets me use as many coupons as I want.:cool1: Do you have any newspaper coupons available or are you using only internet printables? If you let me know perhaps I can help you by telling you some of the deals I have found! And maybe others can chime on in and let us both know what deals they are doing!

If you are looking only for edibles some of the best I have found are the .75 mc for Hormels Compleats which are on sale for $2.00 - so you pay $.50! Also the Bumble Bee tuna packets are free after the $1.00 mc is doubled. And of course A-1 sauce is really cheap after the $2.00 MC is doubled - I believe our A-1 price was $4.99. Keepin mind the registers are printing out some great catalinas too - so you might want to make several transactions. I have gotten $3.00 off edibles or consumables crt on every tranaction and I usually get a $5.00 off any purchase catalina on almost every transaction too. I then just use them on the very next purchase. Shall I keep listing? Am I helping you at all?

It would be free... some cashiers will even give you overages, some won't.

I've got to get through my own coupons to head to KMart sometime this week.

Oh and by the way - in the example you provided. The $2.00 coupon would definitely make the $3.89 item free! What would happen is the first $2.00 would list as a manufacturer coupon and then the next line item would be $1.89 multiple coupon (the doubling part - but it does not actually double as it can not exceed the price of the item) - so the item would be free!

Here the registers are automatically doubling the coupon but will not give an overage.

But you better hurry - the shelves are getting very bare, especially on the "free" items.:goodvibes

Okay, here's another GREAT deal but first you are going to have to print the IP coupon for Scrubbin Bubbles Gel Toilet Cleaner from here http://automaticshowercleaner.com/coupon/2009-07-A/?sid=coupon&cid=bulletin8a&rid=112043662&om_rid=CHnLa$&om_mid=_BKaGF$B7ufJKKs& . That will give you a $2.00 off MC, then get the coupon from your paper for a free Scrubbin Bubbles Fresh Max Starter Kit when you buy the SB toilet Gel Cleaner. You will then get both items free!

And do not forget the Pert deals are awesome - there are MC in the paper for $1.50 off Pert For Men which is on sale for 2.50 - making it free. There are also $2.00 MC's for Pert Plus the large size is $4.49 on sale so you only pay .49. I can't remember the details but you can also get the smaller size Pert on sale and with coupon it makes it free or almost free.

Vaseline lotion is another big one - $1.50 MC's and it's on sale for $3.00 so that makes it free.

LA gel has a $1.00 MC and it is on sale for $1.75 so that is also free.:goodvibes

Okay, so my total went down from $43 to $20 with relatively little effort in clipping/organizing/shopping. And I only bought stuff I would normally buy/use even though I didn't necessarily need it right now. (And DH picked up some things that I didn't have Qs for.) I was a little disappointed as lots of items I wanted I found the store didn't carry. Then I had some trouble with the coupons not ringing up. A window with a bunch of little rectangles came up on the screen and then the cashier had to press something, even though it looked like everything displaying was for items I was purchasing. Any ideas on that? Is there a better way to turn in the coupons, as in, ring the item, ring the coupon, etc. rather than handing the coupons over at the end?

At least here in PA it is a limit of 10 coupons a day and only 4 of each kind of coupon. They stick to all limits here. Makes it really hard to stock up but some good deals.

:headache: WHY DOESN'T KMART HAVE DOUBLE COUPONS IN CT?!?!? I JUST CALLED AND THEY SAID THEY NEVER DO.

last time they had double coupons our Kmart would double the coupon up to $2, if you had a $2 coupon it would not double to $4. I had a coupon for $1.50 I was given $2 off for the coupon. you could really only use $1 or under to be doubled.

i read in the add you have to spend $25 in shelf items in order to use double coupons.

We don't have any double coupons anywhere in Chicago!!:sad2:

I'm in the Western Suburbs and my Kmart is doubling. Just got back from a trip there after seeing this thread earlier. Unfortunately everyone around me must also know all the deals because most of the great deals were all sold out. I did get some things. My total went from $24 and change to $8 which I was happy with. May take another trip later today or tomorrow to see what else I find. And mine was indeed doubling $2 coupons and there was no minimum amount to spend or total of coupons used. Guess not all are enforcing the policy?

I just got back. Haven't figured up the math yet but I did pretty well.

Here in Joliet doubling.

There are lots of websites that list items with coupon match ups. Just type in Kmart super doubles.

Yes they are, they are not advertising it (signs in the store). Get a flyer and look at the front page/inside flap, it is a small coupon ad.

There is a coupon book at Kmart (just like their beauty book from last year), I found them by the customer service desk. It is about 5"x7", at least 20 pages, there are cleaning, health and beauty, household coupons in it. There are some frees in it (deodorant, body wash).

Here's a short list of what I've gotten free and anything listed as a bogo has doubled to make both free, my stores are not limiting number of coupons per transaction either. I've gotten a lot more free but by using manf coupon and the $3/$20 and $5/$5 CRT coupons.

Glad to hear some of you are getting great deals!:goodvibes DH and I spent the entire day yesterday running from CVS-Walgreens-KMart - we loaded up our car several times. The really great part was we also had a script to transfer so we did and got a $25.00 gift card for doing so so we used that for all of our out of pocket costs and we still have $$ on it. Honestly this has been quite a rush - it is such a good feeling walking out of the store knowing you are ahead for once! I have never done this well! My entire living room is covered with bags and I have no idea where I will be putting it - but I still have coupons so we are headed back out! :cool1:
