You can go to the KLM website and sign up for a free account. After you do, you can request a card to be sent to you.

I took my card but no one ever asked me for it. I just returned my rental from National using the code yesterday. I reserved a standard size car for $222, and was upgraded to a mini van that worked out even better.

I've never provided any documentation other than a driver's license. Used it 4 times so far in 3 years.

I've used it probably 20 times at numerous airports. Never had to show anything.

I used the code today for a huge discount over MLK weekend. I joined the Fly Blue on KLM just in case, so it's still working and working very well.
