Earlier this year, I had a little kitten named Delilah who was detected with Fading Kitten Syndrome and despite everything, died in June. I didn't want to get another cat for a little while, it was a sad moment because she was my first real pet.

After a little while, my fiance and I decided to get another cat from a animal shelter. I am thinking of two kittens but I am curious and would like to hear some feedback, has anyone ever adopted two kittens at once? What was your experience?

We adopted two kittens at once. They were brother and sister. We litter box trained them, got all the shots, etc.

Honestly, it was great. They had so much engery, were so sweet, loved to play, etc.

The only bad part was the food- to this day, one cat eats the other cat's food. For awhile we had to feed them separately so they both could eat enough. One litter box has worked for us although we scoop it out more often.

Getting two kittens is great because they have each other to play with and it's really adorable to see them playing together!!

So sorry about Delilah :(. When my first cat of 16 years died, I just couldn't deal. About a week later we adopted the two kitties and while I was still sad about my first cat, they helped ease the pain.

I prefer 2 cats, mine are sisters. They play well together and it just feels easier. :)

We adopted litter mates as kittens and I wouldn't change a thing! I think cats are happier with a companion. :lovestruc

Where's the thread from the woman that has the two adorable kittens she's trying to find a home for???

We adopted two kittens from the same litter and they have been life long companions. The boy just passed away this past February of kidney failure at the ripe ol' age of almost 13. His sister misses him, but she is doing fine.

It really gives them someone to play with.

They do not necessarily need to be from the same litter, but it would be helpful if they have lived together or are sheltered together so that you know who they feel about one another.

But usually, from such a young age, they should be fine together.

One litter box should be fine, but you may need to clean it a little more frequently.

Sorry about your other kitty.:sad1:

We adopted 2 6 week old sisters (Siamese) from the local Humane Society. It's perfect and they are best friends, 4 years later.

wouldnt do it any other way. :)

We have 2 cats and while we got them 6 months apart it was easy to see how well they got along from the get go.

They are wonderful. Good luck in your search and Im s orry about your first kitty, so sad.

Here I am!

OP, I am so sorry about your Delilah. In 2001 I lost the cat I had since I was 5 years old.

I don't know where you live, but I do know that I have two 7 month old siblings that are in need of a home. I also know that on my thread there were a few people willing to help drive them to their new home...

Hi, thanks for the advice, I talked to the fiance that I would love to get two cats so I am doing some more research.

RainbowBrite, it is so great that you are looking for a home for two of those kittens! I wish I lived near there so I can give them a home, I am confident that I can get some kittens here in the West. My father works for an animal shelter so later on tomorrow I am going to shoot by there and talk to him.

I don't think you will have any problems with two kittens, I have two brother cats who I got as kittens and they have been life long friends. When they were younger they would get on each other's nerves every now and then, but now they sleep together, eat together, and clean each other. They are so adorible!!

Good Luck!
