Hi there...

I am looking for a place super super close to Disney...that has a full kitchen.

That's the catch. It HAS to have a FULL kitchen in it. Anyone know of a place?

I don't care if it's 4 or 5 stars. It just needs to have beds and....the kitchen.

I am planning a trip for me and my sister in law next year. She has multiple complex allergies and won't eat out anywhere. If the food isn't made by her, she won't eat it. Which makes travelling for her near impossible. Getting a villa in Disney (with a full kitchen) is not really in our budget so we are looking just off the grounds but super close.

Anybody stay at some place that they would recommend or know of some place nice? Let me know!! It would be greatly appreciated:)

Thank you!

In December my friends and I stayed at Lake Buena Vista resort and spa. We stayed in a 3 bedroom 2 bath. And it has a full kitchen. Sink, stove, oven, dishwasher, mircowave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster. Our suite had plates, glassware and utensils for 8. It had some pots and pans, basic cooking tools. We only used the kitchen for easy breakfasts and making sandwiches to bring to the parks. It is possible to cook in there, most things are there, but in my opinion, it is not as fully stocked with supplies as my kitchen at home, and I am not much of a cook. How much cooking does she want to do and how gourmet is she going to get. Yuo can fry things, make pastas and bake stuff. As I said it has some pots and pans. You can always take an inventory of what they have and if it is not as well equipped as you need, take a quick trip down the street to Walmart (1/2 mile down the road) and pick up a few cheap aluminum foil throwaway pans.

We liked this place. It also has a Pizza Hut Express on site and an Irish pub with very good food. Perhaps she would be willing to dine there and be specific with the server about what she can and cannot have. Maybe they will accomodate her. Does she eat out at home?

Other places to consider that we also looked at Floridays, Blue HEron, Lake Eve, Sheraton Vistana and tons of others. We had a car and we were from parking space to parking space in 10-15 minutes.

Hope that helps.

We are staying in the Staybridge Suites in Lake Buena Vista, about 1.5 miles from Downtown Disney.

We're getting two bedrooms, two baths, FULL KITCHEN and living room for $98/ night through Travelzoo.com The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking supplies and dishes. It's also right next door to a Winn-Dixie supermarket!

You get a free hot breakfast included in the price which doesn't do her any good, but you could take advantage of it if you like.

Disney does a great job handling food allergies so you might be able to eat in a restaurant there. If you note her allergies on your reservation, and remind them when you arrive, the chef will come out and personally discuss what he/ she can do for you. Many people rave here about Disney's awesome handling of food allergies. I understand she still may not be willing to take the chance, but the option is there.

Another vote for Staybridge Suites! We normally stay here the 2nd part of our vacation. The Residence Inn is a quality alternative. Every suite has a full kitchen as well. We are staying in a 2 bedroom/2 bath suite this July. $134/night.

Any timeshare resort will have a kitchen facility. Two bedrooms will pretty much always have a full kitchen (I haven't heard of one that doesn't). One bedrooms will usually have a full kitchen, although some smaller ones will have a kitchenette, watch how they describe the unit and check with the resort to be sure. Studios are almost always a kitchenette.

There are a ton of recommendations of TS resorts on this thread. Most popular are generally Wyndham's Bonnet Creek, Sheraton's Vistana Resort or Vistana Villages, and Hilton's Grand Vacation Clubs at I-Drive or SeaWorld (Seaworld is a bit far for Disney Parks).

Our DS is a hyper-sensitive celiac, so we know how your SIL feels! Even a few crumbs of wheat will lay him low for a couple of days - not what you want on your Disney vacation!

A couple of extra tips:

There is a Wholefoods at the corner of Turkey Lake Rd. and W. Sand Lake Blvd that will have all of the specialty items she may require. It is relatively close to all the resorts mentioned above - maybe 10-15 minute drive.

For extra caution, we bring Clorox wipes and give the kitchen a good wipe-down before starting, and run a couple of loads through the dishwasher to ensure that everything is well cleaned.

Check the disabilities thread here on DIS. The chef's at Disney restaurants are VERY well versed in all food allergies, and proper handling. We haven't tried a Disney restaurant yet - DS gets too nervous and can't eat - but every report I have read from sufferers indicates that Disney treats them with all proper precautions and will discuss requirements with them prior to cooking anything.

Hope you have a marvelous trip!
