Kitchen Sink...worth it?

Not to be a downer but I just don't think it looks appealing. Maybe because I don't like cake/brownies in my sundaes. And I don't really like the idea of eating out of the same trough as a group:eek:, whether they're blood or not. I'm sure people have a blast doing it, but I prefer my own individual sundae.:)

They give you individual bowls so you can scoop at whatever you like. We even got individual bowls with our much smaller sundae. I agree though about not liking cake and brownies in my sundae, but there are usually other people that would eat my share of that anyways.

We have ADR for beaches and cream in august and are planning on the kitchen sink instead of lunch!! There are 6 of us and I think it will be enough that we don't need a meal aswell!

We eat it as our lunch...then take a much-needed walk around the Boardwalk to walk it off! ;)

I say its definitely worth doing. We have done the Kitchen Sink twice. Its best to go between lunch and dinner rushes, or later after the dinner crowd is gone. Then you're not losing out on a lot of park time waiting for your table. The first time we went it was mid-afternoon. The second time we went it was later after dinner died off. That time my son got sick and threw up all over the table. The manager said they normally don't provide meals to-go, but they wanted to get my son out of there quickly and get the area cleaned up. So, they gave us our food to go and called us a cab to get back to our resort quickly. The Kitchen Sink was made in a big container, I think it was a big butter or sour cream tub with a lid on it. Eating a Kitchen Sink out of a big plastic container back in our room was not as fun as the first time, but at least we were able to have one that trip. My son slept the entire evening and was fine the next day.

I will caution you that with our first Kitchen Sink we ate FAR too much food prior (we are 2 adults/2 kids), with our second we were MUCH wiser and shared meals and ate light (I think one of us ate soup or got the bowl of chili).

Dollar for dollar, I still think this is one of the best values in all of Disney, I would spend that much getting ice cream for all us and this is a fun way to get ice cream for everyone, including a few kids at the next table, ha!

Ditto. We ate dinner first then attempted the Kitchen Sink. Not possible! We started out too full to possibly make a dent in it! This next trip we are going to just go eat the kitchen sink one afternoon and skip the burgers. :)

We have an ADR for lunch in August and that's going to be the meal (4 of us). Not telling the kids ahead of time as it's one of those things we've always wanted to do and just never seemed to. Now that they take ADRs, seems much easier and I know they'll be thrilled.

For those who have done it---can you change it up a bit? Like we don't care for pineapple, so can they put extra fudge or something instead? And can we pick the ice cream flavors? Not huge fans of mint ice cream either!

Then we're planning dinner in EPCOT that evening--hopefully we'll have room for it by then!

Not worth it to us, unless you are just doing it for pictures and the novelty! :)

Would much rather have their Sundaes and share them. After your first serving from the 'sink' it all turns into a overly sweet syrupy mess. Gets pretty gross looking and tasting. Too many and too much toppings. The sundaes are so much better.

My family of six is thinking about heading to Beaches and Cream on our Epcot day to get the kitchen sink. Is it worth it? We've never been in the Epcot resort area. Is it too far of a walk for dessert or should we find something in Epcot? I should add that we have never spent more than a half day in Epcot due to the kiddos getting bored/tired.

No, more of a novelty. It turns into a soupy gross mess .. Get a round of No Way Joses instead

As long as you are aware that it contains the recommended allowance of sugar for an entire week you should be good to go.:rotfl2:

KS looks like a fun thing to try, I'd definitely be sure there were enough really hungry people that we could eat what we want before it melted down.

That said, the No Way Jose was OMG good. DW and I shared one as a dessert, but if you were just eating ice cream it would be no problem for an individual to finish one off. :earsboy:

You can have your kitchen sink "custom" made if there are flavors you don't like! If you like the no way Jose, just get it kitchen sink sized! We did this with a fudge mudslide and added caramel.....So Good!! We also have a picture with the straws in getting the last drop! Just order it the way you want, fun times!

I think this looks like so much fun!! Do they still dim the lights and such when they are presenting to a table?

I read here a couple of years ago that a DIS family made this their new "first night" tradition -- they go to B&C and have a Kitchen Sink for dinner. The Mom said it was one of her favorite memories from their trip. I don't know why, but I can't even tell you how often I think about that post. It just seemed so sweet to me and loads of fun.:thumbsup2

They did when we were there in October. They blink the lights, and the server marches around showing it off and announcing the sundae. Just remember-"A WHOLE CAN!" It always amazes me how everyone knows that line even though maybe they've never been there. And I agree completely with the person who mentioned the family bonding experience. As DH and I always say, where else at WDW can you have so much fun, such a memorable experience, for about $25? So even if you only eat less than half, go and enjoy!

So much fun it was my 'birthday cake' for my 19th. If I did it again I think we'd ask them to hold the fruit :crazy2: did not mix well with all the other toppings :rotfl:
