we have to buy a new kitchen faucet and I'm trying to wade thru all the info on them. am wondering, what is the difference between price pfister and kholer? whey is kholer so much more expensive?

2 that I am looking at are these:

http://www.faucetdirect.com/kohler-...th-side-spray-from-the-antique-series/p219446

also, does anybody know if this is possible. the way my faucet is right now is I have 3 holes...one for the side sprayer, one for the faucet, and one for the soap dispenser. the plumber that was here told me to make sure I got a single hole faucet, with a side sprayer if I wanted one. what I am wondering is can I get one like this that has a pull down sprayer but the handle isn't part of the faucet? anyone know?

For the first two, those seem to have entirely different finishes. The Kohler states it is brass, the Price Pfister does not say what it is made of. Can you go to a local home improvement store and look at them? There might be the possibility that the PP is not metal. Have you looked online to see if you can find at a discount place that way?

As for what the plumber told you, ask him why and if that is a possibility. He might have suggested that because of pre-existing holes or maybe he has numerous calls about the drop down sprayers. Best to ask and find out why.

Our old house had a delta with the sprayer in the faucet head. Somehow, some way, my kids figured out how to break it. It was a plastic (or appeared to be) faucet with the tubing for the sprayer being metal. They broke that, the faucet head, not the tubing/sprayer. I think that was around $180 to replace.

Spoke with my husband, he's a plumber.

The difference between Price Pfister and Kohler is like Chevrolet and Ford but Kohler is typically more expensive. Plus your finishes might make a difference. It looks like you are looking a chrome vs. oil rubbed bronze. Definately not apples to apples.

Since you already have three holes for your current faucet, the one you are looking at should be fine. The faucets come with eight to ten inches of hose so as long as the holes are not farther apart than that, your set up should do.

My husband recommends that you go to a showroom or home improvement center to actually take a look at what you are buying. He also recommends that you don't order online. If the faucet arrives and it's factory wrapping has been broken, then that means someone has been in it and parts are probably missing. It's not always the case but it does happen.

thank you so much!!!! that helps. definitely will be heading to a showroom or 2. I have a feeling I am way overthinking this. lol.
