Kissing first thing in the a.m.??

I have watched many shows/movies where the couple is sleeping peacefully in bed then they wake up and start giving each other good morning kisses. Yes, I realize this is not real, these people are actors, but it made me wonder....

When you first wake up do kiss your spouse/partner good morning? Or do you run for the medicine cabinet and the mouth wash before you even look at your spouse let alone kiss them?

I've only seen one movie where this was portrayed realisticly. It was "American Sweethearts" with Julia Roberts and John Cusack. There was a scene where they wake up together and are talking and they both have their mouths covered with a sheet! It was hilarious because it is so true.

No kisses around here until the teeth are brushed. That always grosses me out in movies. They never have to pee in the mornings either!

Doesn't matter to us honestly. He gives me a goodbye kiss every morning before he leaves and I sure haven't brushed yet. And when I used to leave long before he even really became "awake" I would kiss him before he brushed. Weekends are fair game

DH is my alarm clock and always wakes me up every morning. He gets up earlier and wakes me before he takes a shower and he always wakes me with a kiss so, yeah, we do kiss in the morning. He's brushed his teeth but I haven't and neither one of us seems to care.

I'm up and out of bed first, DH is still in bed most times when I go to leave for the day...I do give him a kiss before I leave...I'm brushed, he's not.

I'm always up before my wife, so I brush my teeth first. By the time I leave, she's brushed hers as well, so no problems there.

On the weekends, we get up and brush our teeth first.

We kiss in the morning before brushing, but nothing too "involved" (if you get my drift) until after we've brushed.

DH doesn't mind but I need to brush my teeth and for him to brush his first. If he does kiss me, I inhale deeply until after the kiss. It's just a peck kiss, nothing passionate.

Even if we are lucky enough to get some mornin' luvin' before the kids awake, it must be after brushing or at least gargling.

Well, my DH has been working some over time in the mornings, so he's been leaving the house before I wake up.

We always kiss goodbye, so he wakes me up to give me a peck before he leaves. He even said that he really only leaves 15 minutes before I wake up, and it really sucks to be woken up 15 minutes early, so he has been coming in an hour before he leaves to kiss me goodbye.

Kisses pre-brush are just pecks on the cheek though.

For the most part we kiss every morning -- nothing passionate though. It doesn't bother him, but the nasty morning breath does bother me.

It bothers me a lot, though not my DH. I think it's just a quirk of mine.... I won't kiss unless both of us have brushed our teeth.

Yes, we do (whenever I'm staying over). We brush in the AM and PM though. I know of many people who do not brush their teeth before bed (I could never - it's just disgusting IMO to not clean your teeth before bed!) and I'm thinking that they are more likely to have stinky morning breath than people who do brush before bed.

So yeah, we do kiss before brushing teeth in the morning - and we don't get any nasty taste/breath either (which, as I said, I partly attribute to brushing before bed and using Listerine).

We also tend to only drink water too, so that may also contribute. []
