We will be staying off site in a condo near Windsor Hills. Where is the best place to get groceries? Last time we went to Walmart, but it looks like they now have a Super Target near there. We don't have any Super Target by us, do they have a full grocery store? Which would be cheapest? Does Target have the Disney souvenirs like Walmart does?Or is there another place that is cheaper to get groceries? We went to Publix once and I thought they were very expensive.

Thanks for any help!

Super Target does have a full grocery store. There's one by my moms house. The prices are usually better than a regular grocery store on pantry and frozen items and about average on fresh items. I refuse to shop at Walmart so I couldn't compare prices or experience for you.

At home I do all of my grocery shopping at Trader Joes and Target (we don't have a Super Target, but all of our Targets have an "expanded" grocery section). When we gone to Disney in the past we usually did go to Publix because it has been our experience that their produce section is usually better than other choices. It is more expensive than Target though. Now that there's a SuperTarget, we'll probably go there.

We were just at Indian Creek in Oct.(3/4 mile from WH) and the area around west 192 has added tons of more stores and places to eat. We go to the SuperTarget or to the Publix across the street. There is a Sweet Tomatoes, Flippers Pizza, Bahama Breeze and many more to choose from that were just built within the last 1-2 years. The have Disney souvies at ST and Publix.
When you go out of WH turn left then make your 1st left onto Livingston and then your right onto Formosa Gardens Blvd(of you go left IC is on your right hand side). This will bring you out to 192(and helps you avoid some lights) right by the Giordano's and Outback.

This is the walmart I use.

Been there on both of my last trips. Very easy to get to but make sure your gps is set to avoid the toll road or carry plenty of change (the road BEHIND the store to gets back to disney, it's a exact change toll road LOL luckily I had the right amount of quarters) however there is a short and easy non toll option as well. It was maybe 15 minutes from the epcot area.

Large, clean, prices are reasonable (as in I live in midamerica where price of living is low and while more expensive then home, not unreasonably more), liquor store (i didn't buy so don't know the prices), Subway (makes a great first night dinner to grab a bag of subs and get a chips and soda in the store), they also have a large disney section so a great place to pick up a few inexpensive souvieneers. I picked up water, beer, milk, chips/snacks and souvineers and spent less than 30 bucks.

I've shoped at the SuperTarget in Kissimmee on a few trips to WDW and yes, the grocery side of the store is a full supermarket to include amenities such as bakery/deli, etc.

It's also very a easy superstore to get in and out of -- particularly, in the morning (all the crowds and chaos seem to hit the Walmart on Vineland Rd.).

And yes, the Kissimmee ST does have a full line of Disney souvies, to include Mickey tees, etc. - they are in the front of the store near the checklanes.

Along this line of thought, do any of these grocery stores have prepared refrigerated meals? Looks like we will have a mini fridge and microwave. No real freezer space.

My local store has "2 Dinners 2 Go" for $11.99 that are already packaged with a smallish entree, a side and couple of rolls. I'm thinking items like this would be ultra convenient to have in a studio.

I looked online at a Publix weekly ad but did not see anything of the sort. My local WalMart and Target (no Super Targets here) carry groceries but not prepared, fresh meals. Maybe the Target Superstore has a Super Deli?

Thanks!

The Walmart has a huge deli section and you can get chicken meals Togo. There are also salads, subs, pizza and more available refrigerated. It's all near the front of the store. Publix has rotisserie chickens and subs and sides. This week the whole BBQ chicken is 5.99. Winn Dixie has chickens and subs but I don't think they taste as well. I'm not sure about the target. Can't remember if it is a super target with a deli.

Lots of easy food available. I usually buy too much because I end up eating in park.

We did a few shopping trips to Publix on our last trip. I didn't notice a prepared meal section, but I wasn't looking for it either. I like Publix because they carry Boars Head cold cuts, which is what we eat at home.

We did stop at a Walmart and at the Super Target as well. I didn't go to the grocery section in Target at all. We ran in about 20 minutes before closing to pick up gloves and sweatshirts since the nights were chilly and we were going to MVMCP the next night.
