kiss goodnight

There are still people in the park after closing. You just can't enter an attraction line after closing and you can't move back farther into the park. You need to be working your way to the exit, but they don't hurry you along. I would guess maybe the Kiss Goodnight is one way to get people out to Main Street in a timely fashion, then not allow them farther into the park again.

you just drag your feet and not leave fast, it is disneys way of saying were closed goodbye

oh ok so can i watch wishes first and not leave? or should i do wishes a different night so i can be deeper in the park?

What time is Wishes and when does the park close?

“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, on behalf of everyone here at the Magic Kingdom, we thank you for joining us today for a magic gathering of family, friends, fun, and fantasy. We hope your magical journey with us has created wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. Walt Disney said that the Magic Kingdom is a world of imagination, hopes, and dreams. In this timeless land of enchantment, magic and make believe are reborn, and fairy tales come true. The Magic Kingdom is a place for the young and the young at heart. A special place where when you wish upon a star, your dreams can come true. Until we see you again, have a safe trip home. Thank you, and goodnight.”

The info about being "deeper in the park" doesn't mean anything in regard to the Kiss Goodnight.
If you want to stay to see it, just find a place to sit in the Hub and just sit there.

BTW, the Kiss Goodnight is so minor a "thing" that any kind of anticipation for may cause you
to be very disappointed.
It is really not much of anything at all.

These discussions tend to raise expectations... and when the "event"
finally happens, it can be far less than what the guests had been prepared to see.

It's just an audio recording and colored lights shining on the castle.
Nothing at all "happens."

Something else to keep in mind.
I've been in the MK several times after closing late at night and they have simply not played the Kiss Goodnight.
I honestly think that it's such a non-event that they simply forget to start it,

That varies.
Just look on the calendar for those times.
Wishes start-time and closing time are always listed.

I saw the Kiss Goodnight twice on my recent visit. The first time was at 2am (park close at 1am) - asked the CMs who were at the end of Main Street around 1.55am if it was happening, one of them looked it up and said that it would be happening shortly, so I hung around there for the show. The second time was possibly around 12.20am (park close at 12am) and was browsing in one of the Main Street stores when I heard some music come on, so popped out into Main Street to watch it.

(The Main Street stores are open for an hour after park closing if there's no night EMH, so it's fairly easy to pass time browsing in the stores if you're waiting to see the Kiss Goodnight!)

i know its just the lights and a good bye message but to see it after most people are gone and everything on my first night seems magical
