If anyone is interested, here a some photos of the construction over at the CR. You can clearly see them building the walkway to connect the existing tower to the KTV. The walkway will meet up with the observation deck that is opposite Chef Mickey's next to the shops.

Hmm, so floor 13 is done and they are beginning 14. That makes 2 more floors to go?

I guess they'll be doing the interior when I return in the Fall.

thanx for the fantastic pics:thumbsup2

i've picked out my studio;)

It looks like they have already done the interior steel studs to about the 10th floor. I would bet that a lot of the non-weather sensitive mechanicals are going in also (plumbing, sprinkler mains etc). With the façade work it looks like they could be “dried in” in about 6 or 10 weeks

Sounds like you know what you're seeing. Can you tell if the units will have balconies? We've watched that mystery building going up the last few trips and I just can't figure that out.

Thanks for posting the excellent photos, Desnik.

Am I the only one who won't ever walk across that bridge? I'd have to crawl across it or be led with my eyes closed. My DH said, "It will be enclosed." Well, not enough for me!

I was just thinking the exact same thing!! Good to know I'm not alone...:rotfl:

It is just me, or is that looking less and less like a Super Walmart (as has been rumored here) and more and more like some sort of hotel or something??

Great photos - thanks for sharing.

Ya think?!? I'm still wondering just what it will end up being...

Super Walmart... no way.
This is definitely a soccer stadium to work the "international" market.
They are the only people who will be able afford a disney trip if Bob Iger keeps pushing up prices... recession? what recession?

You aren't the only one...I'm wondering about my mom.:scared1: We may have to go to the first floor and THEN across.

And...why do the support posts look so high? Is there going to be a big dome over the top, or a second walkway? It just looks odd to me. They look like four miniature Washington Monuments to me. :lmao:

I can not tell for sure about the balconies (3d perspective is a little tough) but the yellow “board” you see is usually an exterior substrate and it looks like it is running perpendicular to the face of the buildings about 8’ some places, so I would guess the answer is yes.

By the way thanks to the picture posters

Studying the pictures closely it is pretty clear that it is either a hotel with a lot of suites or a DVC with the long balcony-short balcony configuration (studio-1br, creating a 2br lock off configuration. I am still trying to pick out “my” gande-villa though. HA HA.

For those “technical” people it looks like they are using “flying forms” and that is why they are able to make such rapid progress (I studied them for a high school class I took on Sanibel back in the mid 70’s)

Thanks for the pics...the building is coming along. I can't wait to check it out and look around when it's finished. I doubt we'll own there but may try to stay once or twice...

Thank you for the pictures. It looks like the progress is moving forward. I would like to see how and if they "theme" that bridge, because it looks like it's going to be a long walk. I think I read somewhere there was going to be a moving walkway? (like at the airports).

I'm so glad you all are enjoying the pictures!! DH had a lot of fun taking them. We are so excited about it and are keeping our fingers crossed that it will be a DVC so we can add on there.

I do want to note that the tall supports you see in the pics that are near the walk way do not "touch" the walkway at all. They are next to them but they are just there not supporting the walkway at all. DH and I were studying this and couldn't figure out what they are actually for. They are much taller than the walkway. The walkway looks as if it's not supported by anything!:confused3

not sure what you mean here.

There appear to be brackets connecting the walkway frame to the columns.
