We got this for DS (7) for his bday last month. We know that it is way beyond him, which is why my DH and him will be playing over Christmas break. Now that the price has dropped on Kingdom Hearts 2 to $29.99 we just might pick it up to hold on to.

My question is...is this going to be way hard for my DH?? :guilty: I saw on Amazon they sell the Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 Official Playing Guides and was wondering if I should pick these up for them, or are they a waste of money (the guide for KH2 in stores is 19.99, on Amazon its $12.49)

Thanks so much!! I know my DS is only interested in seeing the part that has Mulan and Hercules in Kingdom Hearts 2, so Dad will have his work cut out for him! ;)

My son is an advanced gamer. He says that Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 are both very challenging games.

there are parts that are very difficult! I bought KH 1 for my DS a few years back, when he got his PS2. He made it through a few levels. I finished the game. It's addicting! I am an adult, and I still had trouble at certain levels. I bought KH2 and finished it too. It's a very cute game, a must for all Disney lovers! You'd probably enjoy it, but I think it's a bit too advanced for a 7 year old. My DS was 7 or 8 when we bought it for him!

Yes. They are challenging. There's also a GameBoy KH game - it's called "Chain of Memories" and it fills the story between KH1 & KH2. My son (he's 12) has finished all three, and he's working his way a 2nd time through KH2 as a different character. I have yet to finish KH1 myself. I don't have the time it takes to get through it. And if you asked my son, he'd tell you I also lack the skillz...

I'd invest in those strategy guides if I were you (or 'cheat books' if that's what you want to call them). At the very least they will help get the most out of these games.

Okay, I'm 26 and a HUGE gamer and I had serious problems with KH1. I still haven't beat it (I got bored). KH2 is a lot easier in my opinion, but it is still not easy in any shape or form.

I didn't need a guide for either game. it's not a matter of needing one to beat it, it's a matter of the game being hard to play. It's a timing and reflex thing. If he needs help use the guides at www.gamefaqs.com for FREE!

Your Dh should be fine as long as he has played just about any video game recently.

The storylines for the games are way too complex for a 7 year old, heck it took me forever to figure it out, but he should have fun watching the Disney characters anyway.

btw...go to http://www.gamefaqs.com, look up the game, and click on walk-through. It's a great tool to help you through the game, without having to buy expensive guides! It also helps you complete the game 100%. I always print a walk through out!

Good call! COM is easier than the PS2 games, so your son might be able to do that one on his own.

Also, when the game starts, you can set it on the "easy" level. I'm playing KH2 on easy right now because I'm tired of having to follow walkthroughs to find out what I need to do. It also takes a lot more for the bad guys to kill you.

Have your son start a new game on easy and see if that does anything.
