Kingdom Hearts for 8yo DD?

I've heard this game mentioned here on the boards before, but can anyone tell me if it would be good for my 8 yo DD for Christmas?? (I've bought our son NHL 2003 and am stuck for a PS2 game for our daughter) Thanks!!

I don't know, but I can say I would have loved it at her age.

I don't know...I'm thinking no. Not that the content is bad or anything but the difficulty level of the game is rather high. If you do want to get it though, I would also sugest getting the stratagy guide for it and it would be good to have a game shark so you can put in some cheats for infanit health. There are some enemies in that game that will kick your butt bad! Malificent is a real big meanie in her dragon form and I don't think I could've gotten through the game without my cheats!

My 8 year old daughter has kingdom hearts and she says its ok as long as you get the guidebook.

I solved the game without them and now I am playing the expert mode. I loved the game and didn't really want it to end.

ps....no I am not 8 yrs old.

My DS5 loves it; He needs help with the reading sometimes, but he enjoys it on his terms.

I would say by 8 it would be wonderful, as long as you are okay with the cartoon swordplay type of violence.

Thank you everyone!! I have to admit I actually have a bit of an ulterior motive, wanting to try this game myself....she's pretty bright for 8 so maybe I can help her with the harder parts.

My 5yr old DS loves the game. It has helped his reading too.

My DH solved it and is now doing it on expert. They have a lot of fun playing it together.
