Can anyone tell me about the rooms with one king bed at WL? About how many are there? Do they go quick or are they in "less demand"? What are they located? I thought I remembered that they are all wheelchair-accessible, so they're all on the 1st floor, is that right?

Thanks :flower:

We were put in a king handicaped room before it was on the fourth floor and a courtyard view room. Basically everything is the same except for the washroom, with the roll in shower etc. I was only in the room for a day, and asked to be moved. It was an awesome view though. :flower:

I don't know how hard they are to get, but I can tell you we were booked a standard CM friends/family rate room and we upgraded at check-in to a poolside, 1st floor, king room. We had requested a king, and thankfully got it - and the upgrade was a bonus. And we def weren't paying rack.

It was a handicap and we LOVED that - bathroom was large and we loved the huge shower.

While "most" are handicap accessible and on the ground floor there are a few that are not. There are some accessible kings rooms on higher floors as well as some regular king bed rooms throughout the hotel. If you would like to try and get one of the regular ones ask them to put in a request for king bed with a tub. Of course it is not guaranteed, but they will try. The accessible rooms are not bad, they just don't have the bath tub and there is limited counter space in the bathroom...we actually like them because they do have more room to move around.

Glad to see you posting, you have been missed.

We had a HA King room this spring on the 1st floor by the pool. It was a great location and the bed was very comfy. We actually liked the shower area and would take it again.

Our very first stay (the first year WL opened) we got the perfect room, to us. Fifth floor King, dead center, looking straight out at the pool and the lake. We stepped out of our room and saw the entire lobby below. It was not a HCA room.

We've been die-hard WL fans ever since and bought into the VWL.

kda - we had a similar room when upgraded from POR on our first trip as a couple. I loved it b/c it was far enough away from the pool so that you didn't hear people playing too much and the view of the stream leading to the pool is also very nice plus I got to watch the EWM from the balcony. We've got our fingers crossed for an upgrade to one of these room in Oct. Our worst nightmare is getting upgraded to courtyard but being on the first floor or right next to the pool (listening to kids play is not our idea of a romantic honeymoon).

Anyone know where the woods view king rooms are located?

kda...
I do believe SkipperBubba pirate: and I :maleficen had the same room for our honeymoon last November. It was Room 5075. Dead center overlooking the pool/lake. We LOVED it. It was an upgrade, too!
We can't say enough good things about WL. We're trying something new (AKL) this trip, thanks in part to WL being over its cap of AAA-rate rooms when we decided to rebook from WLC to premium package with a standard room. However, we'll certainly be going home to WL on future trips!
Cheers,
