Kinect questions - How much room do I need

I got my kids the Kinect for X-mas and now I wonder if it was a mistake. We have the Wii and enjoy it, but we already owned the Xbox 360 so I thought I'd add to it, but the biggest question - how much room do I really need for two of them to play. In both our family room and living room there's not a great amount of empty space.

What's I've seen of the Zoom lens, is it's not really recommended or doesn't really work.

we use a pretty small room to play it and the kids still play it, I'd say they stand just about 6 ft back, maybe a lil' shorter, I have not trouble playing it, my 4 yr old sometimes does, but he doesn't seem to notice :) Of course a larger room would be much easier.....

With just the kinect you need 6-8 feet to play and a bit more for 2 players. We have a small living room (width) so we bought the kinect zoom accessory it was around 24.99 at Best Buy. I think it is a bit cheaper at Amazon but the shipping fees add on. Anyways we only need like 4 feet for both players to play with it. It just snaps right onto the kinect sensor. It is great!

oooh I had never heard of that THANKS :)
actually I had totally forgot that with 2 people makes it a lil' more touchy with just the 6 ft of space, but we always just played separately, actually now that I think of it I guess that is why DOH!

The space in our living room is small and we can't get both players on at the same time. Also if it's below the TV it has a harder time seeing adult sizes but when it's mounted at the top 'looking' down it works great. We have the kinect and the Wii and love them both. Dance Central is a great work out - better than the movement you get with the Wii.

We have the Kinect, it is fabulous! That said, it really does need a ton of space (especially for 2 people.) I didn't know about the Zoom accessory. I'm going to check that out.

Glad to hear you had success with the Zoom because some of the reviews are awful. I think I will go with that to be safe!

I have not read the reviews but I do know that at first it was doing random things with sensoring but then we realized we should recalibrate the kinect after adding the zoom and it has been great! Maybe that is the issue others had?? You just have the sensor track and identify the cardboard thing again.
