Haven't read the whole thread, but this point here stood out for me. If one is going to forget where they left a single book, wouldn't it be just as easy now to forget where one leaves their entire library of 1000+ books? No remembering where I left a book or which shelf I left it on or whose bed it might be hiding under. My entire library is right there in one little gizmo. I carry over 1000 books with me....

I am an avid book reader, my wife is an avid book reader, and now both of our girls are avid book readers. In fact, my 1st grader's teacher keeps sending home chapter books for her to read instead of the little 3 sentence per page little booklets that are sent home for the reading lessons.
I can't stand reading stuff electronically. I have plenty of reference books on photography or guitar that I have electronic and I print them out to read instead of reading them on the computer or laptop. I print out a lot of articles on my guitar websites I frequent instead of reading them electronically. I print out the more important emails at work instead of reading them on the screen.
The biggest fear about the electronic reader gadget... I'd be afraid of it getting knocked off the back of the toilet!
