Kindle vs. Kindle Fire

I own a nook color,using an sd card which makes it into a kindle reader too- I love it, but I am going to buy a cheap kindle touch soon,as reading is my main goal. I can use my tablet for other stuff,but I don't. ( I got the nook, but really,I only needed the kindle touch)
BTW has anyone noticed there aren't any kindles in stores right now? what is going on?

I own a Kindle Keyboard and the Kindle Fire and love both for what they do. The Fire is great for web browsing, watching movies,apps, etc, but I use the Keyboard for all my reading. I have the 3g, so I love that I can use it virtually anywhere.

Having the 3G is the main reason I bought the keyboard Kindle with 3G. I wanted to be able to download books where ever I was at, without having to worry about having WiFi. I knew I'd be using it mainly for reading and love it for what it does. I've taken it to WDW the last several times I've goen and love being able to download and read books at the pool. I also like how it's so much thinner and lighter than the Fire.

I got my mom a Kindle on clearance at Target for about $55 because she said reading on my iPad hurt her eyes. She's enjoying it so far and actually prefers the click-to-page-turn rather than a touchscreen.

Basically - if you just want to read, get a Kindle. If you want a tablet you can read on, get a tablet.

I own a regular kindle, which I love, love, love. I take it to the beach all the time, no glare, no umbrella.

My 3 older boys, have Fire's they love them, they download free games, apps, movies, shows, and read books at night on them. The Fire is perfect for them.

I own the regular 3g kindle and my kids have the Fire. They love the fire, and read play games, and watch shows. I love my 3g for downloading books where ever I am and find it more comfortable to read outside than the fire.

Even if my kindle died tomorrow I would buy another Kindle 3g. But I do love a tablet, I like my kids Fire and I love my dh's new Nexus 7. If I could afford both I would buy both.

I love my kindle. I usually browse thru list of free books during spare time. I have 25 books (I love murder mysteries) right now.
