I know I heard Kevin and Pete discuss Kindle covers that were really nice. I just gave my wife a Kindle for our wedding anniversary. Now I can't find the spot this was discussed. I have re-listened to several podast and can't seem to find this info. If anyone knows please post. Thanks in advance for your help. 20 days to Disney AK Lodge.

MBG is correct.

www.OberonDesign.com

I'm embarrassed by how much I like the one I got.

They are absolutely beuatiful and have a "hand crafted" feel.

They're a bit pricey ($75) but worth it ijn my opinion.

Enjoy

Thanks for all the help. Kevin they are gorgeous. Once again my families sympathies and prayers.

Those covers are GORGEOUS. I can't decide which one I want. There are at least 3 I want. I am leaning towards the peacock. Kevin, did you get the corner straps or the Velcro?

Kim

Honestly, the cover is nice for protection, but I find that my Kindle is easier to hold when it's "naked." I have a soft neoprene sleeve (search eBay) type cover that I store mine in, but otherwise don't use one when actually reading.

Before you sink that kind of money into a cover, you might let her experiment to see what she needs.

All of that said, those leather cases are GORGEOUS.

I got the Hokusai Wave in Navy.

I actually called to ask if the navy was "dark" navy or a lighter color.

I asked about the straps / velcro and the woman said they sell many, many more straps then velcro. I went with straps.

Ok....I am over protective.

I have the Oberon cover AND the neoprene sleeve.

I use the sleeve when I am tucking the kindle in a tote or backpack.

I found the neoprene sleeve (net book sized) in Target for under 10 bucks.

So Kevin, you're saying you have a cover for your cover, right?! :rotfl::thumbsup2

I dont want the kindle damaged, so I keep it in the cover.

I'm afraid that taking stuff in and out of my bag will scratch the leather and
I dont want my beautiful Oberon Design cover damaged, so I keep it and the Kindle in the neoprene sleeve when transporting it.

I dont give a fig about the neoprene sleeve. :rotfl2:

Kevin, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed this week's podcast...especially the "What are you reading?" part. I just got a Kindle two weeks ago (the day before they dropped the price by $60...they were very nice and gave me a refund when I called) and I love it!!! I had to laugh when you said that you were reading the Janet Evanovich book "One for the Money." That was the very first book that I downloaded to my Kindle. The really funny part was when you started talking about the book "The Ark." One of my friends had highly recommended downloading it to my Kindle. She just raved about how much she loved it. It was the first book that I tried to download when my Kindle came in, but never could find it...now I know why! I guess I will have to wait until the next time it is available, even though I know I will have to pay for it. By the way, right now I am reading the Twilight series books (Julie's favorites) and I'm on New Moon (#2). If you haven't read them yet, you might want to try them.

It sounds like you and I have similar taste in books...any other suggestions?

I can't see Kevin reading the Twilight series unless he is acting out a scene for some episode of an ABC comedy sitcom.

ROFL....actually, I'd like to see him read the books. I'd be curious to hear his take on Edward, especially with his antics in New Moon.

Kevin! Go read them! ;)

Right now, I'm reading One Fifth...it's by Candace Bushnell, the woman that wrote Sex and the City. It's trashy, but right now, I need trashy.

Lined up I have....

The Doomsday Key by James Rollins. (I've read 2 of his and they are great adventure stories)

The Lost City of Z by David Grann (I took Pete's recommendation)

Two for the Dough by Janet Evanovich (The 1st was ok....I'm giving her another chance)

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen (It has come highly recommended also)

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (I've never read it. It's time)

Paranoia by Joseph Finder (It was free. I'll give it a try)

Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett (I've aleady read it and I miss these characters. I loved this book.)

-gasp- You have never read Pride & Prejudice??!!! That's it. I can't talk to you anymore.

lol JK! :)

The guy that plays Edward creeps me out and looks like he smells bad.

He needs a bath and a day at the beach. Not necessarily in that order.

Not a vampire fan since Dark Shadows and I detested those Anne Rice vampires.

I'm pretty sure these books arent for me and there are so many that I want to read, that spending time reading something that doesnt interest me probably wont happen.

LOL, Nikki! Believe it or not I actually know guys that liked the Twilight books! Of course I think they are all under the age of 30! I agree with you though, they probably wouldn't be something that Kevin would like.

Thanks for the recommendations, Kevin. Believe it or not I already had Pride and Prejudice and Paranoia already downloaded, and a sample of Pillars of the Earth. Several of my friends also recommended Water for Elephants, so I will definitely check it out!

BTW - I've never read Pride and Prejudice either...I think I've seen every version of the movie though.

THAT'S ALL IT TOOK?

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

ROFL!!! Just for that, I am going to talk to you even more now! :P

I can't get over you two never having read Pride & Prejudice. I'm absolutely stunned and appalled. This is one of the greatest pieces of literature of all time! Sheesh! I suppose you haven't read The Canterbury Tales either (the Wife of Bath is my fav!)? Paradise Lost? Arthurian romances? Shakespeare? Beowulf?
