My DD is in 1/2 day Kindergarten. Actually, only 2 1/2 hours per day, but that's a different thread.

Who do I need to buy gifts for?

I was planning on getting her teacher & her aide each a gift.

Am I missing anyone? I know DD sometimes has an art class and visits the LRC (library), but I do not think it is very often and have no idea what those teachers names are...........

Also, gift suggestions would be helpful. :thumbsup2

TIA!

I don't believe you NEED to buy anyone anything. Get for who you want to get for.
My son LOVES his teacher and his art teacher(who we love too! I have 2 older kids) They will be the ones getting gifts this year. The people that really are special in our lives. I don't just gift to gift.

Oh but I do also get the Bus driver something.

It would be awfully nice to include the art teacher and librarian, wouldn't it? I'm kinda ashamed to admit I've never thought of that. :headache: My son is full day kindergarten and I was planning on a gift for his teacher and one for his PT/OT (he has an IEP for a mild physical delay). Last year for preschool I asked the teacher how many aides she has daily, and made sure everyone had a gift.

I can't afford to be buying all these presents, so this is one of the reasons my family and friends do marathon baking. I buy pretty plates or holiday tins/tubs etc. from the dollar store and send cookies and candy for the teacher gifts. This year I had a little extra in the budget so I picked up Starbucks gift cards to go with them.

If you want to include the art teacher, music teacher, librarian, etc., call the front office. The receptionist will gladly tell you their names, especially if it is so you can send them a card or little gift. Oh and btw, I usually try to take a plate to the front office too. They do a lot for the kids and get forgotten often.

That's my whole issue is I have no idea what teachers she has or how many. I do not get to take her to school.

I guess I can ask my DD, but she probably doesn't know all of their names either.

Right now, I'm just going to stick with her teacher & the aide.

Maybe I'll try to find out what the other Mom's are doing........

I only give to the main teacher, plus aides and/or student teachers. Our kingergarteners (and older kids, of course) have library, art, gym, and music each week, so it would add up. Gift cards are always a good bet! Avoid mugs, candles, ornaments, anything #1 teacherish, and baked goods (got this from another thread). A card from your child is always appropriate!

I am buying for my kid's main teachers this year due to financial concerns. Both of the kiddos love their health teacher, so they are going to each make her a card.
