Kinda upset . I thought DVC Members get all the perks?

Well OTI, I sympathize with your issues. If you search my posts, yoou'll see that I've had some myself. I do hope that, when you return, you take time to tell us about your experiences ... what you did instead of having to brave the crowds of kids, etc. It seems that other than the Flower and Garden Festival, you seem to have found a loop hole. You've found one of the few times that Disney isn't holding something to clean out your piggybank. I'm very sure that by the next time you make it down there (2006), that they'll have another celebration in the works. They can't be planning a 35th anniversary of the opening of MK can they? After all, EPCOT does stand for "Every Pocketbook Cleaned Out Thouroughly!"

As for only having magic hours for High School kids ... I'd want to be sound asleep when they finally do return to the resort so I wouldn't have to listen to the noise in the halls. Besides, we always liked to stay away from MK on weekends ... my big feet and strollers don't get along in the park.

If you look for the good things in being a DVC member :magnify:, the disappointment will disappear ... 'cause we can always say, "We'll do better next year!"

Mdonley sounds great. I am looking forward to get away from the work and see disney on the DVC side and not just a paying customer anymore.. Thanks . :bounce:

lol tough guy?? ::MickeyMo again the tough guy syndrom behind the pc.. :badpc:

Tough guy??? What in the world does that mean. I just meant, I don't appreciate the language you use in your post, not withstanding all the whining. I thought only 18 yo's used the term "suck". I was surprised you are 35. Do you talk like that in front of your children?

There were other times also , but you get the picture. Disney has a habit of announcing events and not giving a whole lot of advance notice. They announced the member cruise way earlier than usual and that's probably the only reason I was able to work it into our schedule. You'll find that they announce special events fairly often. Sometimes you will be able to attend and many times you won't. But, that happens to ALL of us, more times than not. It bothered me more the first few years as a DVCer, but I've accepted that I will miss some events and functions, but there will also be some that will work into our schedule. We plan to be DVC members for a very long time so we have years to enjoy some of those of member events and park functions.

I'm sure you will have a wonderful time if you don't let your disappointments overrule your enjoyment. Good luck.

Thanks mona . You make good points. I only had a problem with the way people on this board seem to attack people .. Its not just my thread .. I've been a reader of this board for just about a yr now and it seems to happen a lot.

LOL .. Your kidding right ? :earseek:

We are having the same problem but I'm not complaining about it. 4/23-4/30 are the only days we can go due to DS being in school. We also miss Magical Express by 1 week (however we are forced to fly into Tampa because there were NO decent flights into Orlando at that time) - so we couldn't have used it anyway. We are planning on going to Epcot or MGM on grad night (after MK closes). And one you didn't mention was the DVC preview for Soarin' which is the week before we go. Disappointed, yes, but I don't expect any kind of special treatment because we are DVC. There are other perks which I am more than glad to take advantage of on this trip.

Since the original topic has been addressed and this has now degenerated into something far away from Disney Vacation Club, we'll just close down the thread.
