You'll be there for the Flower and Garden show and the FP concerts at Epcot, that's worth something in my book!

I hope you have a wonderful trip. You do have time to plan around the announced activities!

Althought, DVC and I are even on what I bought I wouldn't mind having a few extra perks myself.

Heck they will be getting my money for the next 40 plus years, how about a free
hat?

Log onto the DVC member website and you'll see a list of dozens of perks...none of which DVC / Disney is obligated to provide.

Geez, I guess enough is never enough...

If you read what I wrote, I said Disney and I were even on what I bought.

And I finished out with a joke (hence the LOL) which I see you chose not to include in your response.

My goodness people. Lighten up a bit.

Again , I never mentioned that was the main reason why I bought it. I was under the impression that when your giving disney 14,000 bucks along with the 1000 bucks of my hard earn money a yr on dues, they threw you bone..

With that line of reasoning, then someone has spent more than $14,000 and has more points than you should have even MORE perks...

I wonder if the "Why Castmembers Hate DVC Members" OP is reading this. If he is, he's probably nodding his head and laughing.... :rotfl2:

I'm not sure what bone you want them to throw? Start the transportation and the anniversary celebration earlier? Let you into Grad Nite (a carefully controlled event where chaperones, etc. are required)?

Don't worry about what you might be missing....there are always new things happening at WDW and chances are you're trips will "just miss" some of them. If you want to stay on top of what's planned and then set your trips up to match, stick around these boards and you'll get a feel for what's coming up and you can plan accordingly.

I'm sure you'll have a great trip...and take a look at what perks are offered and see if some of them are of interest to you.

Gang . First off I wont have a bad time in april . My whole reason on this post was how much of bad luck I got.. Some of you that responded to lighten up .. My god .. I never once said I would have a bad time. How can you when your at the magical kingdom? :moped:

What bad luck did you have? I'm going in April as well, couldn't be happier.

By the way, you get a DVC perk at Epcot on April 15-17 on Soaring. Oh yeah, you get AP's at $100 off, plus 10-20% off many different restaurants, and free valet parking at the DVC resorts with valet parking.

Just think that with MK closing early, that is more time you can "kick back and hang out" at the BEAUTIFUL accomodations that are DVC!! I look for any and EVERY excuse not to just "go, go, go" at WDW....I'm pretty insanely happy just relaxing in my room. If you haven't tried a little bit of that...maybe this would be a good opportunity!!!

We will be there from April 24 through May 2 and could not be more happier. For us, we were excited that we were just missing the 50th celebration as that would mean the crowds will be lower as a lot of people will wait another week to go!!!
That is one way of looking at it.

And you need to keep in mind that there are three other parks along with water parks and DQ to visit.
If Grad night is anything like the Night of Joy that my DH and I attended a few years back, trust me you do not want any part of it. Sorry if that comment offends anyone, it was not intended in that way...just not our cup of tea. Music was really, really loud.
Go to MK in the day and hop on the Disney Transportation and close your night out and one of the other parks.
Go over to EPCOT and take in the Flower Festival and the Flower Power Concerts.
Trust me, there is more than enough that will keep you and your family busy while you are there.

Hmm, let's see. Free transfer & onsite transportation, sizable AP discount, discount and inclusion in the DDE program, free valet parking, admission discounts to DQ, PI, TL, BB, tour discounts, spa discounts, restaurant discounts, member ride previews, pool hopping, etc. Dude, that's more than a "bone", it's a side of beef!

Not bashing anyone, but we make our own fun! If something neat is going on....well great, but being with my family in a fun environment is what Disney is all about! pirate:

I went to Grad Nite in the early 80's and I must say that I definitely would not want to be there during grad nite now or probably anywhere near PI during those evenings. YIKES!! :earseek:

AP discount sucks . Its for the rich that are DVC members. I cant afford to go more then once every 16mths without losing my house. Spa discounts .. come on .. Dude the only beef is the chunks of beef you just mentioned.. My god I've never seen so many people get offened because of one post here. I stopped reading here before because :moped: e I saw the way some of you clowns jump on peoples post.. I guess its time to do it again. My god.

The only funny thing about this post that I started was talking about the bad luck I got in planning my first trip home as a DVC member.. I see the post went in other directions with people taking my post out of context. I will not have a bad trip. I only mentioned about MK closing early because it figures the first weekened I get there is only only time to see MK due to not spending any time the rest of the trip in disneys parks.

Ps I am not bashing your post . :smooth:

Sounds like you have lots of gripes about some timingissues not working out on your vaction. But they sure ain't DVC's fault, your ire is misdirected IMHO.

Not really.. Always quick to rip someone. My bet it wouldnt be done any where else then behind your safe keyboard.. :confused3

Maybe it would be better if you let us know what type of bone you were looking for when you joined DVC. Maybe what you are looking for is available, you just need to let us know.

By the way, I wouldn't normally use AP's either, living in So Cal. What we are doing is planning a vacation this April at BWV, then coming back 10 months later since our park passes will be paid for. It makes our trip in 2006 almost free(plus airfaire).

I was disappointed in many things in life. Then one day I learned to roll with the punches. I realized I couldn't control everything and have everything.

You are experiencing something called "that's life".
Thanks for the lesson. CAnt wait to read more from one .. :grouphug:

Every time I plan a trip there are good and bad timing about it.

One of the good things is since I am DVC I know there will be other trips in the future so I don't need to stress about everything being perfect this trip.

Only a few airlines partisipate in the tranportation thing. Many company's that do transportation may go out of bussnes becuse of this. (The airline I fly doesn't so I still take QuickSliver.)

We are going in just a few days. I am so exicted, but a little bummed that many things won't be open yet or down for rehab.

We are going back in May (around the same time as you.) and doing PORS (April 29th) and then heading over to Vero Beach on May 3rd. I am excited that many thing will be open then that won't be in March. I am a little concerned that it will be a bit more busy then normal, but will get over it.

One of my pet peves is that MK does often close early. Closing at 7 really isn't that abnormal. At least you get Extra Magic Hours later in the week (Wednesday I belive.) If you aren't doing Disney the whole week, adjust your plans, since you are staying DVC.

Sounds like you made assumptions that weren't true. My guess is there will be other surprises that are actually more important to you than the ones you quoted for the upcoming trip. Things like getting a room that does not meed your expectations/requests or having the time you can't get up for rent from another member. These are just a few of the reasons one should investigate before buying. Didn't you read all the legal paperwork before you bought, if you didn't you should have.

Well dean unlike many on this board , I could care less about what room I got . I bought DVC for one main reason. Its a good deal and when I cant use the points , I've had no problems renting out my points. I had one main problem when I orginally post this. Simple, I made my travel plans too early. Next time I wont. Just like The next time I wont even post another starter thread on this board. Pack of wolves I see. God I cant wait to meet all of you some day . REally makes me and the wife feel good to see all the love out there of other DVC Members.. lol :badpc:
