I just had my first trip to WDW with dd age 7 1/2. I had a great time, but could see how fun it would be to go back with the girlfriends. I am turning the big 40 in August! When I mentioned to one of my gf about going in October to celebrate my bday-she was like no way. I haven't talked to the other gf yet...am I being selfish-this is where I would like to go again! There is so much I didn't see and do and would love to have a girls weekend away at WDW!:sad2:

I don't think your being selfish at all, it's your birthday and if that's how you want to celebrate it I say go for it :thumbsup2 , it's her loss!, my DH's 40th Birthday in on 1/1/2009 and although we can't be there for that time, we are hoping to go and celebrate it earlier:yay: have a fab time:goodvibes

I say this with all respect, go solo. You will have a much better time doing what you want to do, on your own schedule then with a friend who really does not want to be there. While I love going with friends and family, I love going solo. I can see what I want to, when I want to. I love to do one of the many tours Disney offers when I am there by myself. Disney is one of the few places that I feel safe in travelling as a single woman.

Going in October puts you right in the middle of Food and Wine in EPCOT. Do it.

Selfish - nope - we all like to have magic.
I started planning my solo trip and I had mom step up wanting to go. There are so many things to do as an adult 7 days suddenly isnt enough.

What is the food and wine festival? Is it the whole month of October?:cool2:

:wizard:
You should GO solo for SURE!!! I would go, in a heartbeat!!!!

Some people get bit by the Disney bug, some don't. I have no idea what the criteria is- I just now that I got bit too!

Though I go with my family when I go, I spend LOTS of time wandering alone. It's EASY.

Go for it.

Another vote for going solo. Ask your other friends first but if no one wants to go, it is their loss. Tell them that you are going anyway. I'm sure there will be other disney nuts from these boards like us there at the same time you will be and will happily have a birthday dinner/lunch with you.

post your dates and plans here and see how much everyone welcomes you with open arms. have fun planning what you want to do :thumbsup2

thanks for the solo advice-sounds enticing!!!! It might be just what I need. I was bitten by the bug! I didn't want to leave WDW-there was so much left to explore-not to mention I love the single rider lines! To add a wine and food festival on top-sweet. Thanks so much for the info! Got to get the kids down before American Idol....:happytv:

See ticker below...... I did'nt even invite anyone to go with me,:goodvibes my solo trips are my recharge and be good to "ME" time!
I say Go for it "40" is a big DEAL!!!
Have fun! :woohoo: :yay:

Take the plunge. Going solo is great. If you're interested in a semi-solo trip in October then check out this thread. You can join us for meals, park touring, whatever fits your schedule. You aren't tied to the hip but can have company when you want it and wander off on your own when you want to go it alone. Since I've been so often I treat my time like a real vacation. I don't spend all day in the parks but I do enjoy sharing some meals and some park touring.

I spent most of my WDW trips catering to other's wants and desires. It's great to do what I want or to do nothing if I so desire. There are always folks around to strike up a conversation. I've done 3 solo WDW trips and 1 solo Disneyland trip so far and they were way better than taking company along who aren't really into Disney.

Listen honey, Next year, when I turn 40, I already have my day planned out at WDW........I dont care who's with me...It's MY day........however, in my case, since I'm making my DH pay for it....he will insist on coming with me.... fine, if you have to!!!
Anyway, if I were you and had the opportunity to go, I would GO, even if it were to be a solo trip!!!

Go solo!! I'm trying to convince DH that a solo trip for my 40th (in July) is what I want. He thinks he should throw a big party for me. I don't want no stinkin' party! I'm hoping to go the first week in Nov. so I can catch the tail end of the F&WF! Besides, he's the one always telling me to go and he'll take vacation to stay home with the kids. Now that I want to take him up on it... he's :headache: :scared: :crazy2: :offtopic: LOL go figure! And he doesn't even have to take vacation then, the kiddos will be in school. He just has to go in late, after he gets the youngest on the bus.

You only live once so do what you want to do as long as your happy that is all that matters! Have fun

I say go solo. I am trying to figure out a way to go solo in May. I would just go for it but I have a WDW vacation to pay for in August so I gotta get me some more overtime in. . .lol.

Agree - have lost count of the number of times that I have gone solo or as NJ says mom has come along. Just did 13 days this year and you know you can never spend enough time there!!!
