I think that MOST of us have had our moments of yelling. Kids at that age can try anyone's patience IMO. Besides well-placed yelling can get their attention as someone I know once said.
Just be glad you don't live in my townhouse. My next door neighbor yells at her kids from the moment she gets up (6:00 AM) until she goes to bed (actually we don't know when that is, we call her the vampire-she's up all night).
She actually swears at her kids, calls them stupid, stupid, stupid, calls them morons, etc.... They're now 16 & 13 and I'm surprised they haven't decked her yet. She can't speak in a normal tone of voice, and SHE is always right!
I am an only child and never realized how much fighting siblings will do!! If one says it's cold, the other says it's hot. If one wants to watch a show on TV the other wants to change the channel. And on and on and on...
So, when my two were younger I lost my temper with them occasionally and I remember after they were asleep I sometimes crept into their rooms very quietly and would bend down to kiss their cheek, brush the hair away from their face, and silently apologize to them. Sometimes even a tear fell.
Some people just have longer fuses than others. You could knock my DH over and steal his lunch money and he'd remind you to buy something healthy with it.
