Kind of wondering about this...eek!

Last night dh and I were discussing reservations at POR for next November.

In a moment of bright idea's and secret scheming I said "It's a shame we couldn't try the Contemporary and try out a DLX for our 2nd trip and be able to use the monorail "

He answers with "How much more would it be?"
So I give him my guestimations based upon previous planning and he answers with "That sounds like a good idea, either that one or the one that we went to for breakfast, I really liked the look of that one"

Of course I know that the Poly is going to be more than the CR but I tell him I'll call and see what's available.

Now to my point . There is nothing available. Nothing at the Poly. Nothing at the CR. The CM mentioned that the rooms just may not be released yet.
Do we think this is the case? If so, when might they be released. Looking at the week after thanksgiving for 2008.

Please don't tell me that in the rare moment my dh agrees to an upgrade, there may be no rooms?

This far in advance, I think it is possible that the rooms have not been released. The CR hosts a lot of groups, and its possible that they are holding rooms until 1 year out in case any groups book? Not sure that this scenerio explains the Poly, but I would have to assume being over a year away, the rooms aren't in inventory yet. Maybe some others can shed a little more light...

That sounds crazy - I agree with the previous poster, that they've not yet been released. I'll bet that if you wait 2 months and call back, you'll get exactly what you want. The week after Thanksgiving is off-peak, I'm pretty sure - there's no way both resorts are totally booked already.

Thanks, I really hope so too.

I tried for a week later online at the Poly and the dates were available.
Tried the same dates for the CR and nothing was available.

The more surfing I have been doing on here and picture looking, the more I am swayed. Especially with use of the monorail and the little ones.

If something is available, will just be deciding between the resorts. I'm super excited if switching is a possibility, just don't want to get hopes up incase it's all booked.

Since you've got 5 kids I would recommend the CR over the Poly. Two garden wing rooms are going to be cheaper, and the rooms are bigger.

Well as of today Poly is showing up as available for our dates but no CR as of yet.
I'd really like to wait on seeing what the CR rates are as the Poly is quite a hike.

I've just started checking into the options of renting DVC points but not sure how comfortable I am with that idea yet. I did get some good advice from that board though.

Researching all options.
