has anyone ever been to any of the water parks in December? If so which ones and when in December did you go? How was the weather and would you do it again?

Not on my last trip...but I have been to Blizzard Beach in early December. It was a warm day (about 80 degrees F) and sunny. I still would have to say that the water was pretty cold...especially on the lazy river, under the water falls, but it was tolerable. Most water parks go through rehab in the winter, so it is best to check the rehab schedule before you make a plan.

You know, I was talking about doing this for Mousefest just a few hours ago. Would wearing a long-sleeved t-shirt help?

I think once a cotton shirt gets wet...your probably better off going without...wool on the other hand...once that gets wet it still retains heat...but I don't know if I've ever heard of a wool T-shirt

I guess it will all depend on the weather. I know we would not stay there all day at a water park, but I think it would be cool just to go espically since we haven't been to any of the water parks in WDW.

I know some of the hotel pools (on and off site) are heated. I remember swimming many times in December and January. Went to Typhoon Lagoon the Monday after Thanksgiving once because it was going to close soon for rehab. We always try to get to a beach in the winter because we are the only ones there. But, we are from Pennsylvania, and 70 degrees to us in December is like Heaven!

The water parks do go through rehab during the winter months, but they will keep one open while the other is under rehab. We went in December of last year and Blizzard Beach was open. We never made it to the water park though, as it never warmed up enough to go. I wouldn't hesitate to go if it was warm enough.

It was several years ago, but we went to Blizzard Beach in December. It was plenty warm the week we were there. I didn't like the waterfall splashes on the lazy river but the rest was fine, I never felt cold. I love the teamboat springs ride!

Totally depends on your luck with the weather ! Our very first trip was in Dec., right before Christmas, and we could have swum every day -- it was nice and warm. We were too busy doing the parks for the first time. Our last trip was Jan. 2 - 9 ,2003 and I'm pretty sure the ice at Blizzard Beach was REAL ! LOL We wore layers and polarfleece jackets and gloves every day --I couldn't imagine swimming. My DH and DD went to the pools at the Poly several times; even with the volcano pool and the quiet pool being steps away from our ground floor room, they turned into icicles.

As previously mentioned, check the schedule for rehabs. Have fun !
