I am planning a trip for our high school softball team next spring. I am starting to raise money and budget right now. I am getting 4 day tickets through the YES program. I pretty much have everything locked in except for the room. THis will be the first trip to Disneyworld for most of my team. I really want to stay in a value resort on property, but with any trip we are working with a budget. I requested a room quote from the YES people and they sent me a quote that was $7 per night more than the rack rates before taxes. They told me that the 2012 rates have not been released yet, but they sent me their 2011 rates for the corresponding dates. Am I missing something here? THey told me before that they would be able to offer me a discounted room rate if I booked 10 rooms, but their rate was higher than if I just booked the rooms individually.

It is standard practice to book the rooms at the highest current rate when the rates for your dates have not yet been released. In other words since rates are not yet out for 2012, the best they can do is hold the rooms for you at the highest available rate in 2011.

This would be the same if you booked the rooms yourself separately. Since 2012 rates aren't yet released they would book the rooms at the highest 2011 room rate. Once the rates come out for 2012 they then adjust the room rate respectively.
