Kim's new and improved life journal!

Great pictures, Kim! It looks like your DS had a wonderful birthday!:cool1: I love the cake! I may have to make that for my DD's birthday coming up in a few weeks.

How is your hip feeling? I hope it's feeling better soon. If not, you may want to have a doctor check it out for you.

Have a great Tuesday!

Hi Kim,

How's your hip? If it is still bothering you, please see a doctor. How are the new shoes treating you? Nothing make a woman feel better than a new pair of shoes. Unless it is a handbag, or some jewelry.;)

The cake turned out awesome, and your son looked like he was having a fantastic time.

Take care of yourself,
Beth

I'm glad to hear that your sneakers came in....How do they feel?

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

P.S. How many days till the secret is revealed?

Great pics from that party Kim! Your lil' one is so cute!! What a great smile!

Hope all goes well with you at the DR. - keep us posted.

Hi, Kim. Hope your hip is feeling better and that your shoes help you run like the wind (or at least a little breeze, anyway:goodvibes ). Hope you're having a good day!

Hey all! I haven't even put the new sneakers on yet. :guilty: Tomorrow I will be calling the doctor. I can't put off at least a checkup of the hip any longer. I'm scared that even if I can put up with the pain now, it's only gonna be worse when I run again, and (God forbid) when I'm on vacation and walking miles and miles and miles every day. :headache:

BUT, I'm happy to report, that thanks to Corinna and her pants challenge...I have been on track with my eating! :thumbsup2 The past 2 days I've drank 96 oz. of water per day (and no propels - which I have become addicted to). And the food is right where it needs to be.

And to answer your question, Tracy, we're at 28 days!! :yay: I actually couldn't get to sleep last night 'cause I was too excited!! (it's gonna be a rough month  )

Thanks SO much to all of you! Your support carries me through...

Kim, I am so glad you are finding The Pants Challenge to be helpful so far. And even more glad you are getting that hip checked out soon. I agree - running on something out of whack is only going to compound that issue in almost every case. First things first, right?

Oh, and I don't think I commented before, but CUTE cakes!

Hi Kim! Sorry to hear your hip is still bothering you!!! :sad2: Please let us know what you find out from the doctor!!!

Good job staying on track w/ your eating and water intake! Good Job!!! :thumbsup2

Hope you're feeling better soon!!!
Stacie

Hi Kim!

Wow... 96oz of water?? I will never get to that point! lol Hope all is well and your hip is feeling better, or at least will soon! You're doing great, keep it up!

hang in there---besides, look on the bright side..ILL SEE YOU SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I have an appointment at the dr. tomorrow at 1. I'm SO glad they got me in quickly, since I figure I'm probably not gonna get any answers tomorrow. He'll most likely send me for some type of test or xray. But I'm glad I'm getting in tomorrow to get this all started.

Water and food were good today. It's funny that I'm not even hungry. Hopefully I'm not coming down with something - because me not being hungry is WEIRD.

I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks again!!! I love all the newbies we have around here these days!!

And one last thing.....it's KILLING ME to have 0 miles for October. Just so you know. :scared:

And one last thing.....it's KILLING ME to have 0 miles for October. Just so you know. :scared:

Now kim, i know its killing you,,,but seriously, it could have been worse if you kept pushing yourself, ya know? Dont worry, you get this taken c are of and your november miles will b e excellent!

 Kim,

I hope your doctor's appointment goes well today and that you get some answers as to what is going on with your hip.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Thanks Tracy.

Well.....I go for a hip xray tomorrow morning and after that I'll be going to an orthopedic doctor to get checked out. :guilty: My primary doctor is thinking bursitis in my hip, based on my symptoms and based on how it hurt when he pushed on it. He's also concerned about the clicking I'm having in my hip, so that's why he's sending me to the ortho. I have a prescription for anti-inflammitories to hopefully help me settle down at night to sleep (I've been restless and my hip just aches by that point).

I'll keep you all posted. Thanks again SO much for all of your thoughts and well wishes.

Oh, and the dr. today said to not run at all until I talk to the ortho. (not that I even could right now...but stilll, it's hard to hear)

Oh Kim - I imagine that is very hard to hear. Did he have any suggestions for activites that you can do in the meantime? It's tough when your legs/hips are the problem, for sure. I am glad you are getting the necessary medical attention and glad that you have some additional relief from the discomfort now, too.

Can I say again, I think it was a really smart move when you skipped that 5K - I don't like to think about how much that could have aggravated your BursitisPLUS®.

Good luck with those x-rays tomorrow.

You're right Corinna. That definitely could have made things worse.

My doctor didn't mention anything else I can do, but I am definitely going to use Amy's stretches (which I have yet to do).

A new gym is opening around the corner from me. I'm actually hoping I can start going for some classes, like yoga/pilates kind of things. I used to be into gymnastics and dance and was quite flexible in the day. I know I'm not exactly strong...but I think I could hit some of those positions and would like the stretching aspect. (Amy, I'm sure you could give me more info) I guess I'm just thinking of some plan B's in case I can't run for a while. I certainly don't want to be sedentary for too long.

Have a good weekend, all. I get to hang with my buddy Jen tomorrow. :goodvibes

Hi Kim,

Sorry  ...I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to check in here for a while. Just wanted to post and let you know that I'm sorry you're still experiencing hip pain :(. It's really troublesome, I know, but follow through with the ortho and in the meantime try to hit those stretches. They look worse than they are LOL. Tight muscles can play havoc on the hip region. It's such a tricky area. It's the main area that caused me to miss so much running before the marathon! I still experience a lot of hip pain but have learned to manage it!

Please post when you talk with the ortho. My recommendation right now would be to try non-impact exercise such as the elliptical if you can get to one or perhaps the bike. Just see what keeps the pain at a minimum.

Good luck! Definitely let me know what the ortho says!!!! Hang in there. It will get resolved, but patience is necessary with hip problems :(.

 Kim,

I am so sorry that you are still in pain. I know that you are really frustrated with this. Hopefully the ortho will have answers for you. I agree with Amy about an elliptical or maybe a glider.

I hope that you have a good weekend,
Beth
