Kim's new and improved life journal!

I'm so sorry you're having "woman troubles. As if birthing babies wasn't bad enough, we have to endure all these other bizzare problems. NOT fair :lmao:

I hope you're feeling up to a run tomorrow, that 27 minutes the other day was so awesome, I'm sure you want to repeat it:)

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

I hear ya about the woman troubles. :( Hope you're feeling better soon!:goodvibes

Can't wait to see pictures of Skeylar!princess: I'm glad to hear that she is doing well.:goodvibes

Have a great Wednesday!:cool1:

*unplugging ears* Is it safe yet? :scared:

Sorry you haven't felt well...here is hoping you are better today and can get a nice run in :goodvibes

I'm sure tonight is gonna be an hour long setup of the season finale next week. The previews look pretty sweet...gonna be a throw down on that there island.

Have a good day!

Well howdy everyone!! Definitely a MUCH better day today. :thumbsup2

I woke up & went out for a run. I always worry (even though I have a watch & know exactly how long I'm taking) that I'm gonna run out of time on my work mornings...so I figured on 2 miles today. Go figure, that I finished in 23.5 minutes!!! Speedy me today! :yay: Felt good and then me & the bean got a little sumpin' goin. :rolleyes1

For right now, as my job stands...I only work 36 hours/week, so I have a short day on Weds and get off at 3. Needless to say, Wed is my favorite day of the work week. Anyway....it was a fun afternoon with the kids once they got off the bus and then we went to see my nephew's teeball game before the rain storm hit. I am SO glad for the rain to hopefully clear out some of this nasty pollen.

I agree with you ladies about the problems I've been having. Basically it's just not fair to have to have those babies and then deal with this crap. :headache: Can't there just be an OFF switch for when you're done having babies?? Sounds logical to me.

The plan as of now is to run again on Friday morning and then another long-ish run on Sunday. Have a great night, all!!

Oh, and Jen...if you're reading this (which I can see you doing since you won't be able to sleep tonight) have a WONDERFUL trip!! And we'll miss ya!!

Scott - I'm almost afraid to watch. :scared1:

How close are those fires to you? If you need to evacuate...come on down!!! I got more rum tonight!!! :goodvibes

AWESOME JOB KIM!!!! :cool1: That was one heck of a great run. I'm so proud of you :). Seriously...great job AND ab work on top of it.

I'm also glad you are feeling better ((HUGS)).

Enjoy the night you Losties ;). popcorn:: I'll just be watching American Idol to see who is given the old boot tonight.

Have a great day tomorrow. And again....incredible job there girly!

Look at you ladies, jumping right on my journal. Love you two.

Marie - thanks for the offer, but they're about an hour away from me. I heard today how they started (some military training exercise gone wrong)...scary stuff. :sad2: Can you Fed Ex me some rum, though? ugh

Amy - thanks!! :goodvibes It felt really good, and you know what? I didn't wear the garmin. Maybe it really isn't a good thing. (you might wanna join in to Lost. I have seasons 1 & 2 on DVD.......tempting, isn't it?? :rolleyes1 )

:)

And I don't want to give you the wrong idea about the Garmin. I used it all last year for my training and it is an awesome gadget for sure!!! But I would suggest....every now and then.....just run without it so you can just enjoy the run and not worry about your pace. If you're anything like me you're looking at that thing all the time and thinking "i need to speed up". :rotfl: .

Anyway....I didn't mean to put down the Garmin. I'm happy for you that you got one! I just don't have a lot of reliability with it here when all the trees have their leaves. Down at LBI last summer it was awesome and worked like a charm :). So enjoy it...just try not to let the pace on the watch drive you. Find your comfy pace and just go with it as much as possible.

Have a great night Kim!

Goodbye kim!!!!!!!
Now, try not to be lost without me--i know it will be hard..i shall miss you ;)

Have a great week, call if you need me..

goodbye!

I totally understand what you mean, and I don't think you're bashing the Garmin at all. I really like it more for the distance than the speed, since already I've thought it was a little flukey. But thank you so much for verifying your feelings. I trust it immensely.

Kim - Great job with the run yesterday!! ..and with the Bean (I think :confused3..that thing scares me a bit :scared: ) :rotfl2:

I meant to ask you...are you on a specific plan?? Are you training for an event or are you out there for the love of running and related health benefits?

You seem to have a solid commitment there and I was just curious :)

Hope you have a great day today!

Don't fear the Bean. Embrace the Bean. The Bean is the key to the bean-a-licious abs we're all seeking. :rotfl:

Scott - to answer your question....no I'm not really training for anything. I will most likely run the 4 mile race again on the 4th of July, but besides that I have nothing "planned". For right now, I'm just running for the love of running, the joy of how I feel, the health benefits and the fact that it enables me to eat more without my weight going up. :goodvibes When I stopped running in January and February, I really really missed it. Even though I was sick 90% of that time, the guilt I felt from NOT running was unbearable. So I run for many reasons, but the main one is that I truly, truly enjoy it. It's MY time and it's for ME. I don't do much else for myself in a selfish sort of way, so it's an odd feeling sometimes. But the way I feel after a run......well - you know what that's like. :cloud9: (whew, I went OFF there, huh?)

Today I walked at lunch for the first, and only time this week. Tomorrow morning I plan on running again, unless we have torrential rain.

Saturday is the Heart Walk on the Ocean City (NJ) boardwalk. We participate in this walk every year in honor of my dad who has a heart disease. Of course all my kids care about is that they get to ride the rides after the walk, but DH and I like that we are exposing them to the pleasure of helping charities close to us and that effect the people we love. Please send some pixie dust for some nice weather - but even if it rains...we've raised some serious money for a great cause! :thumbsup2

Talk to you soon, guys!

Just a quick one for now.

It was HARD getting out of bed this morning. But I did it. I got dressed, put in the ol' contacts & went out the door.....only to find RAIN!! :headache: At that point I had a decision to make. I could turn around & climb back into bed (REALLY wanted to do that), I could just go run, or I could go back in the house & get a baseball cap (and delay the decision). So I did the hat thing. And I got right back out there, garminless. :thumbsup2

I ran 2 miles in 22 and 1/2 minutes!!   I knew I felt faster and my breathing felt fine, so I stuck with it. And I actually "sprinted" the last 1/4 mile.

I'm proud of myself for rain-running. It's not like me at all. But it just makes that "high" all the better.:goodvibes

ok, guess it wasn't all that quick of a post.

Wow Kim!!! GREAT JOB!!!

So cool that you could have blown off the run, but chose to throw the hat on and knock out a nice 2 miler! It seems a bit daunting to go out in a rain shower, but once you've done it, it can be quite addicting! Someone I know likes to splash in puddles ;) It can definitely put a fun spin on an otherwise ordinary run. Congrats on getting out there!

Have a good day

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

WAY TO GO KIM!!!!

Look at you becoming a hard-core, throw caution to the wind, runner! I'm really proud of you for getting out there. And just consider this, you can adopt my zen running approach :hippie: and look at running in the rain as a soul cleansing experience, washing away the toxic thoughts while you fortify your body. ROFL. :rotfl: OK...maybe not.....it's cold and wet and the only redeeming value to it is that you get to run through puddles without feeling silly ;). Bottom line is that you did it and you did GREAT!

OMG....btw I saw a commercial for the BEAN! LOL. Thought of you crunching away on it Mrs. McBeaner!

:goodvibes Have a wonderful weekend Kim!

You two are a freakin riot! :rotfl:

Thanks for being here for me guys, and understanding how HUGE that run this morning was for me.

I need to start focusing more on the foods I'm eating. I'm going to make a plan over the weekend and do some HEALTHY food shopping on Sunday or Monday. I'm doing fine maintaining the weight I'm at now, but I'd like to get off the extra 5 pounds I've allowed back in my life. :headache: I know the running will really speed up the weight loss, as long as I stop eating SO many calories. haha

Have a wonderful weekend!

Those 2 are too funny!!!
Loved the "soul cleansing, washing away the toxins" remark!!! Too funny!!
Great job getting out there kim! I'm so proud of you! I remember WAY BACK when you were just getting started on the running....couch -to-5k progam....you've come a long way baby!!:thumbsup2

Keep up the great work kim...those last 5 lbs will fall off and be washed down the drain w/ the rain!!!

marie

Hey, Kim! Thought I would stop by and see how you've been doing.

Your running is AWESOME!! :cheer2: Keep up the good work!! I have never run anywhere near 20 minutes, but those little bursts that I used to run, really did feel good! I can only imagine 54 minutes of mostly running! :cool1: You ROCK!

Hope your grandma is doing well  pixiedust:

So, glad to hear that Skeylar is doing well!! I can't wait to see pictures!

BTW, you guys are Killing me w/ the LOST references!! We DVR them and DH has caused us to get like 4 episodes behind:scared1: I told him we HAVE TO have a Lost marathon Sunday!! It is fun that way, but then when it is over I just want MORE!!

K, hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend!!!
