Well....hey guys! Here's the low down and mostly pictoral trip report. :goodvibes

Remember when we were little and we'd take road trips with our family? We roughed it with a coloring book and maybe a cassette player if we were lucky, right? Well.....times have changed, my friends.

Yup, they've got the life at 6am.

We really had a great time. The kids were well behaved (mostly). They BOTH rode their first looping roller coaster (Super Duper Looper) . Em rode it 6 times. Jake liked it, but once was enough. :rotfl:

The room was nice (Hershey Lodge). Of course the one shot I'll share from the room was of the wallpaper in the bathroom.

The weather was unseasonably COLD! We didn't get to enjoy the water rides like we wanted. The kids did some of the water rides, purple lips and all. What I loved about Hershey is that they give the kids a heads up right at the front gates, to show them exactly which rides they are big enough for. I had me one Hershey Bar...

and one Reese's Peanut Butter Cup

(and you know when they measure the kids right there, they get some free candy that matches the size they are. Gotta love free chocolate!!

OK, so the main excitement we had on the trip happened Thursday. We had gotten into the park an hour early (perk of staying at a Hershey property), so we got there right at 9am. Around 8pm we were ready to hit the road...drive somewhere & pick up something for dinner & maybe hit the indoor pool for another late-night swim. We get to the car & DH asks what I'm waiting for...get the keys out of my backpack. I said I don't have them....long story short. NEITHER one of us had them. And we had no idea what happened to them. Of course we didn't get our hands stamped when we left, since we figured we certainly weren't heading back in the park that night. We went to lost & found (outside the gates), nothing there but we filled out a form. Went to guest services & they let us back in the park to look around. We checked our locker, and went to the early morning rides we hit to see if they had anything. NOPE. Luckily there was a shuttle bus back to the Hershey Lodge, so we could at least get back into our room. DH called his parents & asked them if they could go over to our house & get our spare key and bring it (3 hour drive) to us the next morning, after we check with lost & found again when they opened at 10. Friday morning, we took the shuttle back to the park and the car was still in the parking lot (thankfully) and we all walked up to the lost & found window with not too much hope. Wouldn't you know the damn keys were THERE!!! :woohoo: Some honest soul turned them in. We called the IL's and they were already 10 minutes away from Hershey. (should've known they would get that early start to help us out) They came in and did Hershey's Chocolate World and had lunch on us. :goodvibes

Here are some more shots from Chocolate World...

Great pics Kim :)
Loved the story of the missing keys:lmao:
Your IL's are a very kind & understanding bunch by the sounds of things!!

Kim! It sounds like you had a great trip - I didn't know they had an amusement park in Hershey - apparently I am living under a rock here because I thought that the main thing there was a factory tour.

Glad that you got back safely and soundly!

Thanks girls! We did have a great time.

Tomorrow is THE day, people. THE DAY. No more excuses. I have a trip coming up in Nov (hence the KOTS in my siggie - keeper of the secret ;) ) and I will NOT be the big girl in the pictures again. I have put on more weight than I care to admit....so I'm gonna work it off NOW.

No more excuses. Don't even be nice to me, guys. No coddling allowed. I need the tough love. I'm tired of saying tomorrow. NO MORE.:headache:

Just wanted to add an update on my older sister. If you remember a while ago I had asked you to keep her in your thoughts b/c she went into rehab. Well, she checked herself out pretty quickly...but has proven her doubters wrong (including me). She is doing incredibly well mentally and physically. She's also started running! :) I invited her to do the 5K I'm going to do in August with me, and she was VERY excited and said it is something she will be looking forward to!

OK - one giant does of TOUGH LOVE coming up for you, Kim.

I'm just kidding - I don't actually know how to do tough love. Your Hershey's picture doesn't look anything like your start picture, though. Gotta keep it that way, right? You can do it.

I'm so glad your sister is doing well. It will be so fun to run that August 5K together! I am looking forward to the day when I will run a race WITH someone else!

Looking forward to reading all about tomorrow's fantastic run.......

Great pics and great trip report, Kim!:thumbsup2 Sorry to hear about the key thing though. I'm glad that you found them and all is well!:goodvibes

That is great news about your sister! :cheer2: What a great idea for you both to run the 5K together.:goodvibes

Hope you have a great week!

Great news your sister is doing so well Kim.
Hope she loves the 5k :)

Great pic's and stories from your Hershey trip. Your key story is always my nightmare! We take both sets of keys with us when we travel, just in case!

I'm glad your sister has turned herself around. The 5K will be fun for the two of you to do together.

I'm with you on tired of "Tomorrow" I've got to stop coming up with excuses and get moving! We can do this together!

Ok Kim....we're in this together!! TOUGH LOVE COMIN' YOUR WAY!!! (we need a boxing smilie!)
Are you going to journal your food so we can bash you on what you've been eating?? (not that I would do that...I'm the nice one on here....I'll leave the bashing to Jen!)

Great pics and trip report!! Sorry, I couldn't go there....I'd come back 400 pounds heavier!! I love the street lights!!!

Also great news on the sis! I hope she stays on the right track.... I know you'll do everything in your power to help her along too. I wish I could run with either one of my sisters....250+ miles and 500+ miles...I don't think they're up for it!

Glad you're home!!
marie

Journal my food you say? I was thinking the same thing today.... YUP - at least for a little while I'm gonna do it. Smack myself into being good. Feel free to bash away for my wrong-doings....I'll still be friends with you guys.

Let's start with this morning. Tubby McBeaner popped right out bed and got out for a run (FINALLY  ). It was a bugger of a run, but I finished without walking (I was afraid if I stopped I wouldn't start again). I went 2 miles in 22.42 minutes. The only reason it was so speedy was that I sprinted the last 1/2 mile or so to just get the freakin thing DONE!! :sad2: I 'beaned it for a little while before hittin' the shower. I plan on doing a little more beanin' tonight.

Got the food back on track so far today. Had a few too many snacks in between lunch & dinner...but they were all pretty good for me, so no worries.:thumbsup2

Tomorrow morning I'm getting Tubby up again (if you haven't caught on yet...that's ME  ) to do a little workout from On Demand. :yay:

Food for today:

Bfast: 3/4 cup cinnamon life cereal w/8 oz. skim milk
Lunch: LC ravioli, salad w/lite italian dressing
lite string cheese stick, 100 calorie pack graham crackers, 60 calorie dark chocolate stick (damn Hershey), reduced fat granola bar (these snacks were spread over 6 hours - late dinner tonight  )
dinner: turkey burger w/2%cheese, mustard & no roll, side of mixed veggies.
dessert (will be): 1/2 cup WW ice cream
beverages: water - 80 ounces.

WOW. That's a lotta food. Definitely gotta slim down on the snacks. Dinner won't be as late tomorrow...so that should help.

Peace out, peeps. :upsidedow

Great job on getting the run in:banana: . Good job journalling your food too. Now for the tough love: Ya need to eat more fruit and veggies. They are filling and don't have a lot of calories. Also maybe more protein earlier in the day and a morning snack would help keep the afternoon snackiness at bay.

Now, I need tough love to get my tush out and exercise! Come yell at me 'cause I need it.

That's a girl! :thumbsup2 That's what I need!!! I did a little better today with the food, but I'll be back to post in a little while...like after dinner. :goodvibes

Hi Tubby ;)
Tough love! we get to be MEAN?!?! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO
(nothing counts as bad when i come over, just so you know)

OK, here's the lowdown for the day...

B-fast: 2 scrambled eggs
snack: light string cheese stick
lunch: LC stuffed cabbage
snack: 100 calorie pretzel pack
dinner: grilled chicken and corn
snack: 1/2 cup WW ice cream
beverages: 80 oz. water

exercise - didn't get up early to workout, but did it after work....3 seperate workout programs for an all-over workout on On Demand. :thumbsup2 Then my trainer (Em) showed me the stuff they do in gym class...so we did some of those moves too. My legs are HURTIN' from the squats I did. Let's hope I can still pull off my run tomorrow morning.

Nite, peeps.

:grouphug: Now be nice to yourself Kim!! (sorry, I'm sooo bad at tough love). Don't be too hard on yourself girl!!!! Just stick with the running and you will be totally fine fine fine...like a sparkling wine  . Mmmm wine :upsidedow , oops sorry, digressing :rolleyes1 . Anyway....seriously, if you stick with the training plan, and beanercize and just do the best you can with food choices, you will have nothing to worry about!!! :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing your Hershey picks. I LOVE that place! It's clean and friendly like our WDW. They have some great coasters too! My favorite is the Comet. It's a bit old but I'm a sucker for those old wooden coasters. GREAT airtime on the big hills...with nary a thing to hold ya' in the seat! :thumbsup2

Your kids are cuties :). Thanks again for posting the pics.

Great job getting out there to run the other morning too. I had a groaner of a run myself yesterday :headache: . Must be the humidity these days :confused3 . That's my story and I'm sticking to it! LOL.

have a great day!.

Thanks, Aimster. (we loved the Comet too!! )

No working out today. Woke up & it was raining & my quads were screaming at me. :headache: So I took today off.

Food for today:

b-fast: scrambled eggs
snack: lowfat granola bar
lunch: grilled chicken & broccoli

ok....gonna stop there. :rolleyes1

JUST KIDDING. Journaling is for the good & bad, right?

dinner: cheeseburger w/no roll & probably 20 french fries. :sad2:
beverages: 70 oz. water

OK, so I'm over it. Done. Moving on.

FIL went into the hospital early this morning with chest pain. :guilty: They're running a whole slew of tests and he's feeling better for now. He might be able to come home tomorrow. Prayers are welcome, if you can spare them. :goodvibes

Run, run, running in the am!!:yay:

FIL is home and feeling better. They are now suspecting gall stones. :sad2:

I woke up and ran this morning. It was cooler than usual out, so it was perfect running conditions. :thumbsup2 My legs were still really sore from those darn squats and my run felt very sluggish. But I finished 2.03 miles in 23.06 minutes. Still not bad. :goodvibes

Food for today:

bfast - 1/2 cup cheerios w/6 oz. skim milk
lunch - small cup french onion soup & 1/2 grilled cheese sand. (Applebees)
snack - apple
dinner - chicken burger w/lite cheese & mustard on whole wheat roll
beverages - only 45 oz. water and 23 oz. propel (anyone else LOVE this stuff?? )

That's about it for now....stay tuned.
