testing pics from DD's first taxi football game!!

Sorry for just throwing that picture out there. I was testing some things out. Unfortunately Snapfish (the picture program) switched up it's coding for my pics, and I couldn't get them to post.

We had a busy weekend, of course. Birthday parties galore. And yes, DD had her first every Taxi football game to cheer in!!! She did AWESOME!

Not much to report health-wise. Didn't get any runs in and I ate too much. That about sums it up! :rotfl: Although, last night my Dsis and I went for a 2 mile walk. It was nice to get out there in the cool air and chit chat while raising my heart rate!

Back on track today...(why is that my Monday motto?? :confused3 )

Hope you all had a GREAT weekend!

Hi Kim,

I'm glad to hear that you had a good weekend! :goodvibes That's great that your DD's first football game went well! :cheer2:

Way to go getting a 2 mile walk in with your DSis. I bet it was fun getting caught up on what's going on while getting a workout in. Way to go! :cheer2:

Have a good Monday! :sunny:

What an adorable picture of your dd!!!!! Congrats to her for doing so well!! If it makes you feel any better, "back on track" is my Monday motto too! Hope your week is off to a great start! :)

Hey kimmy!! Great pics of dd!!! She's a cutie!!
You sound like me...no running...just eating!!! :thumbsup2
oh well!!
I actually asked if "When you die, can they use less embalming stuff and make you thinner?" Everyone in the office said no. I'm gonna look into that...at least that way I'll know in my after life if I'll be thin or not!!! :rolleyes1

have a great evening!!

Sorry, I guess I HAVE been slacking!! Not much to report. Busy week as usual. Only went on the eliptical once. But...

I did sign up for another 5K next weekend. It's on the 24th, and it's in Philadelphia. It's the Parkway Run/Walk for Children's Cancer Research. It benefits the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. A group of us from work are going to run for a friend's nephew who is 2 and has brain cancer. So WISH us luck! :cool1:

I know I've made promises and plans before, but my plan for this upcoming week are to run: Saturday (tomorrow), Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Then rest Saturday and race next Sunday. If for some reason I can't get out there & run on those days, I will do the eliptical for NO LESS THAN 40 minutes on those days. I need you guys to push me, PLEASE (I know some of you will get TOO MUCH enjoyment out of that!) :teeth:

Take care, and have a GREAT weekend!

have a good weekend

Kim...good to hear from you! :)

I think that 5k sounds awesome and I'm happy that you signed up for it!! I'd LOVE to run in Philly...I'm assuming you'll be running down the Ben Franklin Parkway? That would be absolutely incredible :) I'm jealous but wish you the best of luck..I know you can do great!!

How do I know this?

Because you are gonna complete those runs this week!! Get your butt out there tomorrow and have a great run! (you said you needed pushed LOL) I think your plan is solid...just remember to not push yourself and pace yourself right from the first mile on. You also may want to make sure you take the day off before the race. I promise you it will make you run faster for the race. :) Just ask Amy & I ;) We've done extensive studies on he benefits of days off....

Have a great week (I'll be in WDW ;) )!!

Thanks guys! So....I went out running this morning. I knew I HAD TO. I didn't want to post that I didn't  . Things worked out really well. DS was supposed to have soccer at 9am and then I was planning on running after that, before DD's football game. BUT, it rained last night, and thus, soccer was cancelled this morning. :cool1: That made me REALLY happy knowing that I could get out for my run earlier, since I don't seem to enjoy or do well with the "later-in-the-day" runs.

I left the house around 8:45 intending on a 40 minute run (20 out and 20 back). And I told DH that if I felt good, I may run a little longer and not to worry about me :thumbsup2. I also planned to run at a steady, slower pace and not push myself so that my breathing would be stable.

Well......I felt GREAT!! So great, in fact that I ended up running 64.5 minutes!!! At one point my left calf hurt a little (I think right around 40 minutes) but another song must've come on and I wasn't thinking about it, and the next time I did think about it, it wasn't hurting anymore. Of course when I got home, stretched and had some water I got my keys and drove the course to see how far I actually ran. My guess was 4.5 miles. I knew I was going slow and thought that was a realistic guess. Turns out I was wrong....I went 5.5 miles!!!!! It's the farthest I've ever run in my entire life!!! What an awesome feeling. I'm so glad I got out there today. :moped:

Scott - thanks for stopping by before your trip! Have a GREAT time! And yes, I assume it's the BF Parkway too, but I have no idea. :rotfl: I'll be sure to post about it afterwards!

DH and I have a sitter and are going out with DBIL and his girlfriend tonight. I am SO looking forward to it.

Have a good one!!!

:thumbsup2 GREAT RUN KIM!! Way to go :goodvibes . So proud of you for getting out there. Don't ya feel great? 5.5 miles is incredible...and really just shy of what I ran this morning as my long run. SUPER EFFORT!!! :grouphug:

So yes..I have to agree with my marathon partner there....days off are actually VERY beneficial. Especially if you are trying to kick someone's butt on the speed run ;). And Kim....I have found...and I think speedy (aka Scott) would agree....days off help you to come back stronger than ever. You'll see from my journal that it paid off tremendously this week. I really wish I had taken off the day before the race last weekend....even though I was fast....I paid a big price! So....follow Speedy's advice ;).

Good luck with your upcoming week and have fun on your date night!!!

GO KIM GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is an awesome run..i am so proud of you ..

by the way, sorry i didnt IM ya back, i was doing research and didnt see the IM pop up..have fun tonight--not too much fun or you wont want to hang out with me anymore ;)

Woohoo!!!!! Now THAT is a run! You ran for over an hour!!!! Great job. I'm still working my way up to that. I'll know who to turn to for any running advice! Keep up the fantastic work!! :cool1:

I'm not torturing you!! I figure it's the only way we'll ever get to meet face-to-face! :rotfl:

Kim -

I've been reading through your journals and you have had a hard yet success loss. You are doing great.

I'm thinking of doing a marathon in late October by the beach a few towns away. I figure I know I can do 3 miles but I'll sign up for 5 mile (to challenge myself).

Your sister is still losing? It's nice to have a "misery buddy."
