Killing unwanted grass?

Hi, I want to take the back corner of our back lawn and put in a sitting area,also put down wood chips, but not have to worry about moooving everything everytime we cut the grass.Now is there some thing we just use around the house that would work good?

Put a couple of layers of newspaper over the area. Cover with your wood chips. It will kill the grass underneath.

Dig out the existing grass.

Lay down some landscape fabric. Landscape fabric blocks weed/grass growth.

Cover the paper with your choice of mulch or other fill, patio stones, pavers, etc.

I read on a gardening site to use vinegar. I put it in a spray bottle and just srayed the area and in worked after a couple of days in the sun. Then just raked it well
