On the Kilimanjaro Safaris tour ride is there a better side to be on to see the animals. Is the viewing better on the right side or left or it doesn't really matter.
Thanks don :D

That is one of my favorite attractions. I don't think it really matters. I mostly end up on the right side. I think the seat fits 4 people and that is usually how many people I go with. While I am down there in August, I will make it a point to sit on both sides to see what I would prefer.

I think it depends on which animals you want to have a little better view of. I tend to end up on the left and am the closest to the elephants, lions, and cheetahs. But the right side gets you closer to the savannah animals like wildebeast and gazelles. Then there are animals that can cross the road or there's some types that are on both sides like the hippos. Either way you'll get to see plenty of animals.

Now that is what my DS10 wants to see the most, the loins and the elephants. Thanks I'm making a note of that right now.
This is why the Disboards is better than any book out there.
Thanks again.

Some typos are just plain funnier than others :teeth:

I would go for the LH as well for the reasons already cited. Funny, have ridden KS 7 tims and never thought of this until now

;)

Thanks

Yes Mike, you are right about that one! :teeth:

I always seem to end up on the left and have had great views of almost everything.

hi, all. what time of day do all you folks think is the best time for seeing the most animals?

As early as possible in the morning especially when it is hotter. Late in the afternoon as well but with AK closing at 5pm, that is tough

thanks

I went early morning, and eveybody was out. I was sitting near the front of the ride, and heard the tour guide mention that one of the best times to go on the ride was when it was raining. He stated the animals love to come out during the rain.

Definately first thing in the morning and in cooler weather, is the best time to ride. In April we saw animals we hadn't seen last few times we rode, which was in July. Also, animals are more active.

Ok, first thing first. Left side is best. Especially for the lions. Wife and I went on first thing in morning, think about 8:15am or so. Was early entry day. We saw alot of animals. We were also lucky enough to actually get on the last one of the day, around 5pm. And saw just as many animals, and a few different ones. So I think they are best two times of day to go.

I believe feeding time is around 3:30, good time to see the animals out and about. Also, don't foget to take a trip out to Rafiki's Planet Watch, you might get a glimpse of the newest addition...a new baby elephant and momma are still seperated from the general population in the back stage area in the elephant house.

My best ride was later in the day, about an hour before closing. Never realized before that just how many hippos and rhinos they had in there.

You should have a good experience any time of the day, though. Disney uses alot of tricks to get the animals out and about and in view. For instance, the rock that the lions always seem to be on is air conditioned.
