I was just looking at Decembers park hours and I saw that Kilimanjaro Safari was seasonal, we are going in december and love that ride. Does anyone know when its closed?

I hate the word seasonal. We're going in January. I'll be so upset if it's closed then.

We always go in December and have never had a problem with the safari being closed. I think it may be listed as "seasonal" because if the weather is too cold/bad they can't have the animals out. Not sure though, this maybe something new . . . . .

I was looking at allearsnet and didn't see anything about it being closed at specific times, so this is good.

And in the 2006 UG...it mentions that the hours of operation are determined by sunset and that as the days get shorted with the change of seasons, the attractions close earlier. In the fall, when clocks are rolled back, all animal exhibits close at 4:45pm.

Hmm I havent ever heard of this... i remember it being unseasonablly cold one year and they were still out...
got me :)

As kelleigh1 mentioned, I think the operating hours are "Seasonal". Shorter hours, but never "closed".

Boy, I remember that! For some dumb reason I chose to wear a blue jean dress that day. When I got off KS, my knees were as blue as the dress!
I think KS is a seasonal attraction only as far as evening EMH are concerned. There aren't lights for the guests to see much on the savanah, so depending on what time it gets dark determines when KS closes. So my guess is that in the winter when it gets dark earliest, KS wouldn't be an evening EMH attraction.

Ditto to that.

seasonal also means weather permitting in this case.

Trust me, you don't want to be on the rapids or out on the savannah if a huge thunderstorm is brewing

Thank you, now I understand why, you cant see the animals if its dark haha.
Great news, cause my family would have been so upset.
