Kids with frequent stomach aches

Just to throw out another idea or possibility (but very rare) DD often complained of stomach aches in kindergarten/first grade and come to find out she had a hair ball in her stomach. She had surgery to remove the 1.2 lb hairball that was the size of a football and she has been fine since.

My older DS had abdominal pains when he was 14 and at 16 he was diagnosed with severe acid reflux. He is on Prilosec for it. Younger DS had stomach pains off and on and he had his gall bladder out when he was 12. We made a lot of visits to the gastroenterologist! If you haven't already taken him to see a gastroenterologist, it would definately help. Sometimes stomach pains can be because of anxiety but many times there is a medical casue for them. Good luck.
