We are are cruising on the Magic/7day eastern at the end of April.... Do the kids on board dress up as their favorite Disney characters during the cruise at all? My 3 year old has a Buzz Lightyear costume from last Halloween and I am wondering if the kids dress up during the character breakfasts? My parents just returned from 2 weeks at Disney World and said that they saw children wearing costumes at times.....

We didn't see any kids at the b'fast dressed up, but if it makes your child happy and in the mood, I'd go for it. They will probably get a lot of attention from the servers! And it's sure to bring a smile from everyone else.....they are only that young once....enjoy it!

I have seen little ones dressed up several times...mostly little girls dressed up as the princesses. I think it would be great for your little one to wear his Buzz costume!

I saw little princesses at the formal dinner nights and they were adorable. If they want to dress up for the character breakfast too, that's great!

One other note, they have lots of dress-up clothes in the Oceaneer Club for the kids. Some of my favorite times with my daughter was when I'd go pick her up at night in the Club and find her decked out in a Snow White costume! :D She is a tomboy and I was surprised she'd go for the frills but she loved it.

Enjoy your cruise! :)

Our last cruise was the Halloween Cruise so while children decked out in costumes for the Halloween parties, I didn't see any children in costume for their character breakfast. But I really think that if your child has the costume...................go for it!! If it gives him pleasure and makes the event more exciting, all the better. Also, it gives something extra for the characters to pay attention to and play off of when they come to your table. And, the pictures would be priceless.

It was from the DIS that I first learned that having a prop or something extra that the characters can pay attention to, really makes a huge difference. The advice worked wonders at the parks and I think it would do well on the cruise. Have a great time!!

We just returned from the 2/23 Magic and saw lots of kids in costume at the character breakfast. I saw a lot of "Woodys" so your child's Buzz Lightyear costume would be great! I think it's wonderful when everyone gets involved and how often does your child actually get to wear his costume to a "sit down" restaurant? The characters will love it and you'll get great photos.

Go for it and have a great time!!!

I did not see many kids wearing costumes on the ship, but if his outfit is comfortable he could wear it at the goofy sleepover where many people have pjs that resemble characters wardrobe

hope this helps
