Day Two
Pure excitement wakes me up around 7:00a.m. Today we will be in Walt Disney World!!! I go downstairs to make coffee and find that my mother and father are already up and have coffee ready. (This is a trend that continues for the duration of the trip. It is very clear that my mother and father have much more endurance than my husband and I)
We shower, pack our bags and check out. By 9:00am we are at Port Orleans Riverside. I walk to the registration desk to see if our rooms are available, and guess what?? they are!!!
We are staying in Magnolia Terrace Mansion section. Our rooms are next door to each other on the 3rd floor overlooking one of the quiet pools. We drop off our bags and we are on our way to Animal Kingdom.
We arrive at Animal Kingdom shortly before 10:00 am. DH and I have been here before but this is the parents first time. We take a few minutes to admire the Tree of Life and decide to see ITTBAB. The wait is short, about 10 minutes and we are inside the tree. I dont think my parents have ever seen a 3-D before and Im sooooo excited for what they are about to experience. Everyone loved it, my parents were amazed.
Next we ride Dinosaur, then over to Africa for Safari. Afterward, we have lunch at Pizzafari. Penne Pasta and meat pizza are both pretty good for counter service food. After eating we take a leisurely stroll through the forest trail and then walk toward Asia.
Its cold today so we decide to skip Kali river Rapids. But we have fun standing on the bridge and soaking others as they pass by. We explore the trail with the tigers and then decide to head back to the hotel for a little rest.
DH and Dad go back to their rooms for a nap and mom and I walk over to POFQ for some beignets. Yummie! Then we catch the boat back to PORiverside.
The boys are rested and we decide to head over to Magic Kingdom to see FITS Fireworks and Spectromagic. The park isnt crowded at all. We walk onto Splash Mountain. My entire right side got soaked and boy it was coooooooold. Next we ride Haunted Mansion, then Space Mountain and Alien Encounter. Back to Adventureland for tacos, then we watch the fireworks, ride Buzz twice in a row, then watch the second Spectromagic Parade. It was magical, and we are exhausted. What a great day!
Tomorrow: Universal Studios
