Looking for a child's tablet for our grandchildren ages 2 1/2 - 7. Seems the best reviews were for the Nabi2. Looking for any opinions or experience with any child's tablet. Would like to pick one up this weekend for a gift. Thanks

I suggest avoiding kiddie tablets and going with a regular tablet with a decent case. It will give the kids/family the best longevity. If they are an Apple family and have tons of apps (kids use parent's phones/touches), then a mini would be great, or an older generation refurbished ipad. I would look to see what the best tablet is vs. the best kiddie tablet.

My 2.5 yo would love any tablet, but has no issue navigating/using the ipad/touch we have. It is freakish how easy they are to use.

Look at the cost of books/apps for the kiddie tablets. That is why I think the Leappad is a rip...the games are $20-$25/each vs. $1-$5 with apple/android.

They will love it! Good luck!

I also agree with skipping the kids tablet. We bought a leappad for DS last year and it was a complete waste of $$$. He uses a first gen iPad quite regularly that was mine and is now a hand-me-down. It's amazing how easy it is to work!

My vote is for iPad. We gave one to our 4 year old grandson last Christmas and put it in a really good case. He uses it every single day. Lots and lots of apps. We have put many educational ones on it and he loves them because its presented in a fun way. He has games, too, and Disney movies. The interactive books are real good. They would have it for years.

I would agree with not the traditional kids tablets like the leap pad. However we just bought 2 nabi 2 for our boys. I was getting the minis but for their age couldnt justify the expense. These are traditional android tablets that have additional parental controls and some really cool apps. The reviews are fantastic as well.

I wouldn't have 2 months ago but also agree with skipping the kiddie tablet. My 5 year old got the Leapster for her birthday and loved it until she started using my iapd. My huband also has an ipad so now my 6 year old and my 2 1/2 year old use those (supervised) and do not even go near the leapster. If you can afford it, might be worth the investment.

Forgot to mention you just go in to settings on iPad and put the restrictions on so no worries there.
