Kids suite advice?

I am in the beginning stages of booking a trip for next year. I will be bringing my brothers family and 2 kids. It will be their first trip and I want to go all out and make it special. I would love to get them a kids suite but have never booked them. They don't come up on the room lists when I try to book online. Is it that you have to call to book them or are they just never available?

The kids will be 9 and 7, and the older one is handicapped. I was thinking Royal Pacific just because I think the pool there would be better (any thoughts on that?) He has MD and will be using a wheelchair at least part of the time, but is currently able to walk some.

Does anyone know the price range (ballpark) of these rooms? Any tips on how to get one? I know they will be expensive, but I think with the suite then I would just have to get one more room, without probably 3.

Do any rooms come up for you for that time period? I tried using different dates and nothing comes up - neither suites nor reular rooms. I know for Disney you can book for the following year, but the prices are not out until August, so maybe its similar with the US.

You can try calling and they will at least be able to tell you what the room occupancy for the suites are and what options are available for handicapped guests.

The price for kids suites are usually somewhere between $550 and $600 per night depending where and when you stay. I'm staying club level at HRH in July and paying $656 per night. I stayed in the same room 2 years ago and it had a master bedroom with a king bed and kids room with 2 twin beds. I think there was a chair with a pullout bed but not sure.

If you go to the website and click on the hotels tab you could look under accomodations. It will list the kids suites and layout for each hotel.

No, no rooms come up for next year, but the kids suites don't come up for any dates at all. I was just wondering if anyone on here had booked one before. I have only done the portofino suites at PBH and that was always upgrades, so I'm just trying to get a feel if I will even be able to get one.

My nephew doesn't need a handicapped accessible room, as long as a wheelchair can get to it. He is not confined to the wheelchair, but will need it just as a backup as he gets tired during the day. He still walks, but tires easily. He would not use a wheelchair in the room or need special facilities. I think the pool at RPH will be better because of the set-up. I am more incined to like PBH myself, so I haven't completely ruled that out. I think HRH just isn't that great for the little ones, even though the closeness to the parks would be beneficial.

I did visit the wedsite and saw the info there, thanks for the pricing info, thats very helpful. So the 656 includes Club benefits? Thats not too bad. How far in advance did you have to book it? Did you have to call to book or were you able to book online?

I thought I read that some of the kids suites were being renovated entirely (different theming). Don't know how many, or if it's at just one, two, or all three of the hotels...but it was only recently that I saw the post about the renovations...

Might be why they aren't coming up to book.

$626 is the AAA rate for club level suite. I booked the end of January for June. Kids suite came up online but not clube level so I called and booked on the phone.

I just booked on their site a Jurassic park kids suite at Royal Pacific for September. It showed up as a room choice. It was $288.00 Annual Passholder rate plus tax and fees. It may be worth you buying an annual pass if you can get an AP rate. It is not club level.

I've booked the Jurrasic kids suite at RPR as well in July. It is way cute. It was club level for around $450 a night 2 years ago. I also just booked it non-club level for end of June (peak season) $504/$524 for 2 nights - there was no APH, AAA, or FL Res discounts available. I somehow missed the APH rate. But I got the APH rate on the other 4 rooms I booked for this family trip.

It will probably be worth getting an ap if the rate is available when you're booking.

How many people are actually going? The suites still only allow 5 people per room. Just wondering why you would need 3 rooms if you didn't get the suite. We used a twin size air mattress in the regular rooms and it fit great right by the window for our youngest.
