(Now my post isn't referring to normal tantrums or meltdowns from tired, anxious, stressed out children.)

I was reading the 2006 Official Guide, and came across the section on discipline. It talked about an Ohio couple whose child (age unknown) must have done something seriously bad. The book said that they took the child back to the hotel right afterwards, and hired in-room sitters for the remainder of the vacation.

The book didn't say what the kid did, however I'm assuming that he must have been, say age 12+, and it must have been very, very bad.

I'm not trying to bash the parents or nothing like that, but my curious nature has me wondering what on earth he could have done that would cause such a severe punishment? KWIM? I'm guessing he must have gotten in a fight, cussed someone out, did something dangerous on a ride, etc. :confused3

Hard telling -- maybe theft -- or maybe that story was enhanced a bit for dramatic flair! :)

I guess I am fortunate -- my DD has been traveling and experiencing new things all of her life -- she knows what we are in for when we go places. To minimize any confusion on her part we always brief her on what we will be doing and what will be happening. Try to show her pictures and read her things about our destination so she has a visual before we get there. I think understanding what is happening is important when kids are experiencing something new.

Anyway, we could make up some great stories about the poor boy from Ohio! Wonder how many sitters he went through? :rotfl2:
