Are there many scary costumes on that night? Don't want my son to be afraid of any? Are masks allowed?

My kids were scared a few times; mostly by one adult wearing what looked like a Freddy Kruger (sp.) mask. They were truly frightened!

We've been to MNSSHP twice with our kids. They are very afraid of scary masks. Thankfully, we have never seen one at WDW.

That's strange. I'm sure I read that WDW does not allow full masks for MNSSHP.

I know that when you get your tickets they have certain guidelines that one must follow but of course this letter is at home waiting to be take to WDW!LOL

That's sad that they aren't enforcing their own guidelines. Poor kid!

We went on the 3rd. I think my kids were too intrigued by MK to notice the other people around them! Honestly, neither mentioned another costume the whole night, but we did not make it over to Adventureland or Frontierland where more older kids and adults may be.

My son 11 wanted to be something scary for the first time this year.(He is usually scared) I said no way! Not at WDW. Sorry pal. He is just a little too old and emabarassed to be something cute. You know puberty! So he is going as a punk rocker.
But I hope for all our sakes people use better judgement. My 2 little ones will freak.

I figured "Freddy" wasn't wearing his mask when he went through the gates. I knew there was no masks allowed. "Freddy" was definitely an adult and his travelling partner was also dressed up although I can't remember what as, it was hard to take your eye off of Freddy when your kids are yelling :(

Never seen a scary costume in the 4 times we have been to the party. Mostly it is cute disney stuff.

skiwee1 you're lucky to have never seen anyone scary! In addition to Freddy we were treated to someone with "blood" running down their face thanks to the ax or whatever that was 'stuck' in the back of their head and some lovely looking ghosts, with their faces painted up white with black eye sockets, etc.....ew!
