Just realized my oldest is over the age for kids' menus for the first time. Sigh. Anyway, if we are not on a dining plan, think he can order kids' meals despite his age? Quite picky still...

It should not be an issue. I order off the kids menu for myself sometimes. I have never been told no.

Most Disney-owned restaurant will allow adults to order from the children's menu. There have been a handful of reports that adults were not allowed to order from the kid's menu at a couple of the third party locations (e.g., La Hacienda). Adults will be charged the adult price regardless of what is ordered or how much is eaten at buffets (e.g., Chef Mickey), all-you-care-to-eat/family style meals (e.g., 'Ohana), dinner shows (e.g., HDDR), fixed priced meals (e.g., CRT), and dining packages (e.g., Fantasmic dining package).

I've ordered kids meals at many restaurants, quick serve locations won't even know who the meal is for when you order anyway.
