Hi. New to these boards, but they have proven to be a valuable resource in my planning. I do have a question though, and I apologize if this question has been asked before. One of the kids in our traveling party (not one of mine), is a very picky eater. His mother contends that he will only eat the 3 basic food groups -- pizza, hot dogs and chicken nuggets. Some of the table service restaurants we are looking at do not have such items on their kids menus. Without getting into a discussion of the merits of such a diet, is it possible to get these items even though they aren't on the menu? How difficult is that? Specifically, the restaurants we are looking at are Flying Fish and Spoodles. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

We have found WDW to be exceptionally accommodating with dining requests. When you make your ADRs for the restaurants, explain the situation to the WDW cast member. They will make a notation on your record. WDW goes above and beyond to grant special requests and serves "picky" eaters (not all are children! ;) ) all the time. Planning ahead will make this much easier.

We once went to WDW with an 11 month old. She wouldn't eat baby food anymore and wouldn't touch most kid menu items yet either. We went to dinner at Coral Reef. There wasn't a thing on the menu that she would/could eat. The waiter spent about 10 minutes talking with us to help figure out what they might have that they could make her. We finally figured out that they had eggs and they made her scrambled eggs.

Also, at another point in the meal, our daughter got cranky. One of the hostesses ran over, swept her up and took her off to see the fish in the tanks so that we could stay and enjoy the rest of our meal.

It is too bad that I wasn't thrilled with the food/expense of Coral Reef. They were incredibly accomodating.

my dd is alot like you are describing however, she will only eat chicken nuggets and fries, so healthy!

We live locally and visit WDW often, sometimes the restaurants are able to come up w/ something to accomodate the picky eater, but sometimes, it's just not possible: example: we were eating at Tony's in MK, and it is all Italian food, the server told us no can do on fries or chicken nuggets, so I walked to the Tommorowland restaurant that serves them, got them to go, and walked all the way back to Tony's w/ my dd's lunch, convenient, no.......but what can you do?

Just be prepared to have someone in your party be willing to walk to get a dinner that would suit the picky eater.......

have a great trip~!

I have been looking at the kid menus on all ears. I have not found one yet with a burger as an option. Is there any CS that will offer a burgers or pizza? I see a ton on chicken nuggets and mac n cheese, but few pizzas and no burgers.:confused3

WildGrits - This was posted recently and might be of help to you. It is a list of locations that don't have specific kids menus so you can order a CS meal for them from the "adult" menu.":)

"From the DDP Sticky page:

I understand that where there is no child menu, children can order off the regular menu. Which CS locations do not have a separate child menu?
• Catalina Eddie
• Taluca Turkey Legs
• Cool Wash Pizza
• Casey's
• Pete's Doggone Good dogs
• Toy Story Pizza Planet
• Sommerfest
• Yorkshire County Fish Shop"

On a related note, how strict are they with kid's ordering off the children's options when using counter service credits? I ask because the menu for ur hotel (Gf) has hot dog and nuggets as the kid's meal. Our nephew willk want pizza at most every meal. Will it be a problem if that isn't a specific kid's meal choice?
