Kids meals question

DH43, me40, ds11 and ds13 will be heading to the world in October for 8 nights. DS11 eats like a horse as DS13 eats like a bird. I have planned one "good" meal a day for us. For character meals and buffets, I am in total agreement with paying for 3 adults and 1 child and that is the rules but... my 13 yo can't possibly eat an "adult meal" in a sit down resturant. (ie italy dinner) Question is, can I get away with paying for two children meals or do I need to do the 3 adult 1 child thing and throw away most of my oldest dinner? It is not about money, if it were we would not eat like i have planned. How does anyone handle this situation? Any suggestions would help. Note*** I know the moral thing is to throw away all that food and just order him an adult meal as he is an "adult" in Disney eyes, but what message does that send that we just waste food?

Man, can I relate. My dd, 9, is an extremely light eater. She doesn't even finish the children's meal!!! Could you just let your younger, eats like a horse, son finish his older brother's meal? Maybe it would average out that way. He wouldn't be hungry and you wouldn't be tossing out food. Just a thought.

Other than buffet meals you should be able to order what ever you need. I know that most of the time my DH and myself will only order one meal and split it. We eat more times but often in smaller portions. Plus I find that I don't get hungry very often, this way he doesn't have to wait for me to be hungry before we eat.

I agree with mudd.

The restaurants with regular menus don't seem too bothered by what people order. Also, there was another thread recently, perhaps on the restaurants board, that included posts from light-eating adults who had ordered "kids menu" items without incident.

Let DS order what he wants to eat.
