Kids meals - Mickey Check

Planning a trip with the grands and would like to avoid an endless array of chicken nuggets and burgers. I know it's possible with planning so....

Wondering if anyone has any experience with the Mickey check meals for kids? Most of the resort restaurants seem to offer these and they look really good. Thanks

1) Mickey Check meals are meant expressly for kiddies.
2) They are nutritionally balanced.
3) In fact, they are so balanced, there are NO substitutions allowed. *
4) I guess the Scales of Justice, and Scales of Mickey Nutrition, are delicate. *

* Or, the profit is so balanced that a substitution would throw off that balance.

I think its worth mentioning that if your grandkids are older, the Mickey Check meals may not always be enough food for them. Last year my 9 year old got them a couple times and was unhappy with the portions - kiddo built up quite the appetite walking in the parks all day. So he was super happy this year to be considered an "adult" and get bigger portions - which of course he never even came close to eating all of! I should note that we aren't big snackers, so if they snack during the day the amount of food may be enough.

Thanks - they're both very active, so it may not be enough by itself. We've been amazed at how much the 3 year old can eat - she's always moving so stays skinny -- oh to have that metabolism again!!.

I was just happy to see something other than pizza, nuggets and burgers - nothing wrong with those, but hoping to get some more variety.

No substitutions are permitted except sometimes they are. It is hit or miss. DS is 7 and we still had to feed him a yogurt in the am and a protein based snack at night. The kids portions are small.
